So, this isn't completely official yet, as it's pending FTA approval, but Green Mountain Transit up in Vermont is planning to transfer 7 2013 MCI D4500CTs over to NYCT. These buses have not been used in service for some time. I can definitely see Castleton getting all 7 of these.

There is a pretty good chance that these will also be in the new scheme, just completely wrapped. Whether or not the signs or the alcoas will remain will be up for debate(they'll likely get swapped out).

MTA Bus we’ll probably be the recipients EC or CP

In this case, the decals don't mean s***. Some buses get them randomly and its been happening for over a decade. Also, only 3-4 Novas have Far Rock decals so I wouldn't use that as an indicator that Far Rock is getting a dedicated fleet.

Not going back and forth bro my intel is always internal , I mixed it with simple logic and some how it seem to happen most times 🤷🏾..

SB off topic I told a member on here about 179 coming to the (H) and now it’s a full time thing..

Yes. It's the same with the Nova LFS. One LFS did see service on the Q35, last month.

The myth is they rotate buses JFK is the main Maintenance for the Local fleet. FR has a Shop it’s just small and used for mostly the Express Fleet. I expect a few LFS to be assigned to FR as #9025 has FR decals.

It's safe to say the B103 has come a long way since the Command days. It was an intra borough limited, then a certain former member got upset when it became "just another" LTD

Once they extend to Williams it became non exclusive as many didn’t know it existed. Didn’t live far from command one of the best privates outside of Queens Surface. The last stop was E 92nd and Flatlands Av the B103 was really for working class people in the PH.

You want to know what REALLY kills the line's OTP and headways?

It's not the merging. It's not the length. It's not how many stops it makes...

It's the people. The ones who stand there with their feet in the doors trying to read the FINDS. The ones who stop me to ask redundant questions. the ones who come running down the stairs, shove themselves into the closing doors, hold them open for their family/ slash buddies, pile into the train... and then suddenly burst out of the train because they realized this WASN'T the train they wanted.

Or, to put it this way... Guess which line I worked today and Yesterday...

The problem with Continental as a terminal is that often times we have to be called down to the platform to pick up our train.

In the last few times I've had the R I've kept to time nearly every time, only for an issue that can not be solved by making changes to the line to show up, delaying me.

    Man gets sick.

    Someone cuts the power.

someone forgot the rules about "Holding Lights as Starting Lights".

As a 4th generation worker it’s never “people” problem let’s not forget without riders we have no job. The (R) is a poorly managed line horrible headway and timers. My grandfather always taught me we server the people not the other way around. Between RTO & Surface y’all have the worst attitude but make the most money.

In 25yrs my grandfather had only 2 major incidents at FP because he never personalized the job. I will never be onboard with blaming the public for the shitty mismanagement of the system that is all 2 Broadway & Albany fault.

Isn’t the metro card RTS based out of JG?? And originally JG was planned to get XD40s for the L shuttle so they can perfectly handle diesels.

That Bus runs maybe 10 times a year they can service it no problem. UP would have Fueled the XD’s then rotate them back to JG as they do now with Short term loans not fueling the fleet.

Considering the fact that the (G) has some of the oldest signals in the system on top of being Sandwiched in between 2 already existing CBTC Zones (although Culver is a bit of a Special Case atm), yes. Yes it is.

It has more to do with Flexibility then necessarily needed it.

I'm aware of the B15 not going to JFK though it wouldn't mean anything.  I was just saying that it was supposedly going to happen, that is what I heard. Also JG can handle diesel buses as they have in the past except they are more equipped to handle cng buses and even so they'll most likely work on the depot for that to happen its similarto the UP situation yes they arent a CNG Depot but they are still able to handle them (aside of them going back and forth to get fuel at it's respective Depot) act. And for the Q58 even if it leaves the pond again, a Depot would have to give a route up in order for it to work which is why I said GA is the odd ball in this equation.

The B15 is dead for Artics if it does not go to JFK as for Gleason there’re not assign a Diesel bus to JG it does not have a fuel line set up for full time Diesel anymore. The B57 could go back to FP and now the B48 is a candidate.

The B82 was definitely in the conversations of becoming artic, at least sbs wise, also the B15 from what I heard,  it was stated that ENY would either get Xcelsiors for artic and or Novas, but as we can see Nova didn't make it in the long run. Also from my understanding the Q58 is definitely staying at FP though GA is the odd ball of this as we've seen previously how they handled it... imo I like it to stay with FP ass they do pretty good with it, and I do see problems luring with the route but for the most part I enjoy it at the Pond. Now the Q98 people already made future Depot assignments with the redesign and it was apparent that the Q98 would be at GA. Which does make sense since FP dosent have artics and GA does so there's that but who knows? Anything can happen. Also I can't see WF giving up XN60s unless they make it where JG gets diesel ones and what comes into play? XD60s and Novas, now I'm not saying they'll get that but from what I can see is that JG can definitely handle none CNG buses as they have over the last month or so when they were short.

The B15 will not get 60Ft it does not go to JFK, JG will not be getting diesel buses WF can handle Diesel. Anytime JG gets a loan it’s fueled at the respective Garage before going to JG. As far as the Q58 it’s not set I stone that it’s staying at FP if they push for 60FT for both routes.

So you want B57's having driver reliefs, entering service and dropping out to go to the depot near where it terminates today?

GA does not do Street reliefs on any routes don’t think that would change. Short turn at Flushing & Grand then DH to GA.

With the big expansion of artics coming in for the orders I still have my eye on ENY Depot. With the whole situation of the B82 I remember hearing that for the future they'd see artics and it would either be Nova or Xcelsiors but times has changed. Also I'd say FP Ik they technically can't artics but with the new redesign of the routes I couldn't help but wonder how they'll do with them, my concerns is with the amount of people that Q58 gets and how jam packed it could get but that's just me.

I don’t expect the B82 to get 60FT with the Redesign I expect the B5/B6 to become 60FT. The rest will be for the B55, Q51, Q58/98(only the Q98 if the 58 stays at FP), not sure if they will move XN60 from WF for the B55 which will likely go to JG.

It has nothing to do with the R46s. The R179s are apart of pitkin yard and the Rockaway (S) just happend to use R179s since they were probably the only trains available. Plus since more R211s are in service on the (A), It makes sense to use a whole set (2 5 car trains) for the shuttle. The R211s will also be used on the shuttle when the time comes.

And the R179s have been on the rockaway shuttle before in the summer of 2021 and 2022 they popped up 1 time in those 2 years

There is no backup the R179 have been assigned to the (H) since last pick it will be full R179 once enough R46 are gone.

What does the local Community Board say about the boundaries of East Flatbush?

The official neighborhood start at E 98 and Linden going north to East New York Av running down Empire, West to Nostrand, south to Av D, Back East to Linden & E 98.

i can't lie, having gone to PS 135, Roy H. Mann & South Shore (and having family that currently lives in Glenwood) that area is TECHNICALLY the flatlands. however, most people in Glenwood (at least the older generations) will claim East Flatbush based on their own family connections and the street beefs that the 40's and 50's share against the 90's (and now the 80's) the newer generations try to tie themselves to Canarsie, but that's total bull IMO.

as you know, the thing about these areas is that there isn't much of a drastic difference economically or culturally. we all went to the same schools (the multitude that exist in those areas) and we all have family that live in and around these areas. to this day, i have family (mother's & father's) that all live within relative walking distance from each other, from Troy & Foster, to Albany & Farragut, to 56th & H, ect. i have plenty of schoolmates & friends/family that can say the same thing, and we've all had these debates in school or on the block, regarding what constitutes as E. Flatbush or not. Joey Badass, the rapper/actor, claims E. Flatbush, even though he grew up on New York Avenue, which to some of us that doesn't count at all, but ultimately, it truly depends on who you ask. IMO the lines have always been blurred based upon what block you grew up on and what schools you went to, however I do have my own definition of what the borderlines are.

The flatlands start south of ave H /West of E 56 Street. The intersection of Ralph & Glenwood is the border of Canarsie/ East Flatbush.

Ah, so you also grew up in the 40's... Interesting... I wonder what part of E. Flatbush @JAzumah hails from..... Anyway. growing up, I used to think East Flatbush on that end, ended at Meyer Levin itself.... Once you crossed Ralph, it always felt like its own separate neighborhood.... But yeah, I won't really trip if someone refers to that area as E. Flatbush.... Now when people start calling areas south of Av. D as being in East Flatbush, I'ma be like yeeeaahh, you goin have to go somewhere else with that noise... Lol....

You know I gotta ask you this as a fellow neighborhood patron..... The Glenwood houses, what neighborhood you got it in? East Flatbush, Canarsie, or Flatlands? Another one of those little debates that pops up. is the western border of this neighborhood (Rogers or Nostrand)....

I look at the boundaries they got this neighborhood as being in on the google map & I cringe every single time.

As a Canarsien Glenwood is considered East Flatbush as for Remsen Village only canarsie thing about it is the zip code.

Extending the B7 up to Ridgewood was always one of these age-old proposals around these NYC-based transit forums (not just this forum/site) that I never really understood from a demand perspective.... Also, as far as the logistics of the extension, consider the notion that the route's going to go from having one poor layover scenario (Bed-Stuy end of the current B7) to a worse layover scenario (inheriting the B20's layover scenario in Ridgewood)....

AFAIC, the B7 extension to Forest (M) isn't much more than having it end proximate to the depot it operates out of; which is Fresh Pond.... It won't do much of anything for the residents that live along/around the B7 & I cannot fathom there's much of anything along/around the B7 that would attract a Ridgewood or Bushwick resident.... The folks that currently use B20's north of Broadway tend to use it within Ridgewood & Bushwick.... Of the ones that don't, they're more or less all off the bus at Broadway Junction.... With the proposed B66 (their proposed northern split of the current B60) running to Broadway Junction, you'd just have those Bushwick patrons gravitating towards the proposed B66....

I mean, there's obviously going to be a ridership increase, but substantial isn't an adjective that I'd use to describe the potential for it.

Guess I'll act as an intermediary here.

His response wasn't irrelevant..... It's pretty pertinent (and funny when I think about it).... All he's saying is that there isn't much of anything east of Ocean along the B7 that would spur ridership growth..... That's like 95% of the route :lol::lol:

I second that it won’t really give a big boost in ridership for the B7 as nobody going South of Broadway. Sending it the down Wilson to help the B60 or ENY would have been better options.

i know for a fact that several mechanics & chassis maintainers there have high seniority and imo aren't as "motivated" to perform... ask anyone who's worked in 100 st over the past decade or so and they more than likely will say the same. lowkey it's been that way going back to when d60HF's were dominant in that depot. even dealing with cleaners in that depot... same shit. there are quite a few dinosaurs in the aforementioned departments who are mentally already retired... just hanging out to get the best 3 salary years to put toward their pensions. and I'm speaking of current individuals who i can personally identify... that have history in Hudson Pier, Walnut & Amsterdam (mid to late 90's). i can't front, I'm patiently waiting for the day some new blood gets injected into that building.

If needed they’ll use the R179… car equipment tries to keep the tech on the main line but if a spare happens to be a 179, they will use it.
