  1. I'm dressed like yesterday just in case I had to stand up. I don't want any whoops moments. lol. They not ready,......I'm not ready either lol.
  2. I did as you suggested. The Catepillar's actually got s the best reviews. 4.5/5 from 1605 reviews. I'm just gonna go with that for now. The Rockports on Amazon got like a 3.9/5 from 48 reviews and ppl send they tend to run small so you need like a half size bigger. @Sfredo bro just fyi if you haven't ordered yours yet. It seems the Cats are a bit heavy but I won't mind that too much. Off of my own research it was either the Rockports or the Cats and I went with the Cats. They also look less like a boot. I'm hoping they're comfortable. Also, I did the registration for Tuesday so I'm set for now. 🦾
  3. I spoke to an NYPD friend. He said the Rockports are pretty dope and not offered to everyone. I don't care how they look, I just want the most comfortable shoe there. So how comfortable are they?
  4. That's good to know. I worked public safety in Times Square for 2 years. 10hr tours. It was terrible on my back lol
  5. I'm still not sure. My brother in law recommended the Timberland Pro's. But I remember my experience with those, even though I had them a full size too big
  6. Yea I definitely got the email. I'm gonna try to register now. In my current job, I've conducted and participated in Zoom meetings. I have a Zoom Pro account. I'll show you a picture my wife took. We had a meeting with NYSED and I had a shirt, tie, sports jacket, and sleep shorts for a 2hr meeting. It was hilarious. lol
  7. It's cool that you can return them if the fit isn't right. I definitely do not want to be uncomfortable for 8+ hours a day. Speaking of....are we standing the entire time?
  8. I had some timberland pro work shoes with steel toe in the past and I got them a half size too big (ordered online and didn't get to try them on) and the steel toe was terrible. So hopefully this time I can order one that fits good. A loose steel toe shoe is very uncomfortable.
  9. yo have you been telling ppl yet? I kinda want to but then again I don't want to. lol
  10. Yea, this isn't my first career. I'm leaving a 14yr career in higher education. I think I'll be ok tho. What's TSS mean?
  11. That's a big 10-4 K. Someone told me about the board I described and said I should read about "interior and exterior and foul light" that it'll be on the test.
  12. Is the Zebra Board the white board with the black switches that has things like "24" and "DC1" and "COMM/PA" and others as example?
  13. Question though. If someone fails school car, what happens? Do they have to repeat it? Do they get reassigned to something else? Do they get terminated? What happens?
  14. Yes sir. I feel good. I heard school car is hard but I know some ppl that are working and I'm surprised they passed it. That instills confidence in me. lol
  15. Sir, I am with ALL of that. I am not one to stay complacence in a job. At my current job, I have been here 14 years and I have gotten 3 promotions and 1 lateral move. I've held 5 positions total and currently run my own department. Trust, I have plans and ambition. lol
  16. He actually took it fairly well. I was surprised. I got an email from the VP who I worked for as an assistant back in 2011 before I was promoted to Director of my own department. She expressed her sadness at me leaving. That felt nice though.
  17. We appreciate all the help everyone! and yea @Sfredo I'm type nervous too but I think we will be fine. They also said slacks or khaki's too so I have lots of black slacks from my current job. (damn, it felt good to call my Dean and tell him I'm resigning after 14yrs and I can't give a 2 week notice). I don't think I've ever been happier to take a pay cut lol
  18. so...........I'm officially sworn in and start on Monday 9/7. Also, ran into @Sfredo and I'm pretty sure he got in too. A couple other cool ppl that haven't registered here but follow the threads. I'm quite excited to start this next journey with the cool ppl I met so far. Thanks to everyone that answered questions and posted info in general. You all really helped along the way. Salute to the growing family here. #WeAreNext I just gotta make sure I can get in on Tier 4 where I was when I used to work for the city years ago. lol
  19. I went this morning and some wait times seemed excessive. Qualified and everything. Needed some notarized documents tho. So I scrambled all day to get what I believe I need. I have an appt for 10am tomorrow to bring it all in. Hopefully all goes well and I’ll get sworn in. I saw a woman get sworn in today and her rule book and some other items. It felt good to see that. I said “yea, I’m next”. Lol. Hopefully tomorrow.
  20. Well, if that's your name, then I'm sure I'll recognize you when i see you. I'll be sure to introduce myself. lol
  21. I can imagine, but you're still in at least. We're just tryna get in now. lol. But I do get it though. Hoping they give you that call soon!
  22. My brother. Thank you so much for this information. This is exactly what I needed to know. I'll be sure to have all my information together. The paperwork is a lot so I'll finish it today. I'm almost done. I'll be sure to bring my GED and one of my Bachelors degrees. All documents are always original just in case. It may be annoying to have to keep going back but I don't mind as long as I get the job. Thankfully my current job is an office position that I am working from home so I have the flexibility to go back and forth as needed. I'll catch up with you on Monday when we start!
  23. Hey man. Looking forward to hearing about the experience so I know what to expect tomorrow. Keep me posted on how it went and if there’s anything I should make sure I have together. Thanks.
