There’s no interlock with the 1oclock position (front door only), you can however still engage the interlock by kneeling the bus, it will disengage after you un-kneel the bus and press in the break pedal.

be in habit of kneeling first , then opening the doors. rear doors will open when you set door handle to proper position and then press in the break.

Also forgot to mention that afaik , instructors should want 12 o clock position of door handle (front + rear) , so pressing in brakes will engage interlock , and give green light at rear door while servicing the bus stop. don’t forget to kneel and press in that brake.

  3. Forward planning, which to me is putting everything learned, together, and into practice. Must stay vigilant, constantly looking ahead (around you as well) and planning your next move down the road. My instructors gave me all the tools, which was easy.. I have to make sure to use them.

Day 8 and 9 students that didn't qualify on day 6 and 7.

Congratulations, and you’re not doing line training until you pick or placed into a depot. The students that qualified on day 7 will meet up at Jamaica depot to learn other types of buses. Students who didn't qualify on day 7, will get a second chance by going to days 8 and 9.

Yes you’re right .. I was looking at the sheet and assumed that’s what I was doing yesterday .. A few conversations with some Supt. cleared that up and informed me how the next few weeks will go .

Congrats on your day 7 qualification. Good luck on the road. Hope there's another class soon.

Thank you , I hope so too .. this is a great opportunity

  6. Yay , qualified on Day 7 , line training tomorrow . There was a lot to learn , and at times overwhelming not “getting it right” .. but no one is perfect . The camaraderie displayed and shared with me made me want this even more , I’m very happy .. and thanks to everyone who posted valuable info in regards to this position and process.

If you look at the link that I provided, it's a lot more than that, trust me...

I did look at that link prior to going , i did all of that , nothing more , nothing less .. my response was just short and inline with what 19a is.

When you’re a transit worker you have to report for work that day no matter what the weather so might as well get in that mindset now!

You are certainly right about that , my current employment requires that of me , and I will treat this no differently ! No complaints !

  9. Medical will be a Article 19A physical required for your position. It is a medical questionnaire and health history review, vision and hearing exam, blood and pulse rate exam, urine test and physical exam. A doctor will review everything and certify you. From there you may continue pre employment.

    Good luck to you !

  10. Was anyone asked to fill out online questionnaire on Cority before appointment ? What questionnaire and location need to be filled out ? Intructions were supposed to be attached , but it is not other the email stating that it needs to be done before appointment , the other online health questionnaire only specifies to do it day before appointment .. but Cority is a mystery.

Well, I feel very blessed to have made it this far. Based on my last comment I was seriously considering deferring for what could have been my last time. I took the chance and reported to 180 Livingston at 10am this morning. I was able to put the last 15 years of employment and to my surprise I was allow to take the urine test. I am hoping to get that work history from SSA, I don't' want them to think I purposely left some employment off. I would have been out in about 2 hours however I sat for 40 minutes before time stamping my paper. Praying I'm called for medical and have the opportunity to put the rest of my work history down once received from SSA 🙏

Hoping the best outcome , I’m glad you decided to go!

  12. Print it , sign it , and rescan to pdf ... you can even take legible pictures of each one , and send .

There’s a class starting Feb 14th , as per the new email I just received for medical. CPD booklet and I9 forms attached and to be filled for my appointment next week.

Finally another step closer ! I’m stoked.

  13. Sorry @MTA MAC, but did you have that many “on the book” jobs the past 10-20 years ? Just do your best for the past 10 or so, and write in unemployed from high school to the oldest you can remember .. it will be a damn shame to have to defer another time. Best of luck to you sir

  14. FYI

Don't know how to word this, but I have kept an eye on the lists , and as of 12/24/2020 , it seems to me that more names have been requested and are subsequently on the certified list. Make sure your contact information is current ! I expect they should be contacting more people soon. I’m hyped.

SLOW down and ignore the paddle. This job is about making money and being safe. If you blow your swing (20 minutes), You are entitled for a 30 minutes lost meal and still get paid for it. There’s a lot of tricks and things you need to know I can tell you in Private Message that will benefit you as the operator on the road and not feel overwhelm. If you need to use the rest room, like @lornaevo stated, you’re entitled to take a personal to use the “rest room only” at the end or while in service. You’ll just need to press RTT and relay the message.

Can I get in on this too ? Thank you
