And do you have proof of this claim?
I do. But I'm having trouble posting pictures here on the Forums.

Why would a retired Bee Line bus be at an MTA facility?
I don't know....... but somehow, it ended up there.

Which of the #601-#704 Orion Vs remain active? It's crazy how much the fleet has basically disappeared.

JFK/Far Rockaway down to 96 units active. Baisley Park has 31. LaGuardia still at roughly 12.

Out of curiosity, will the Orion's go for auction, similar to how the Neoplans went?
I know one has been preserved already.

That’s the info I could find that I put on my roster page yesterday. I used CPTDB and looked at YouTube clips, so I know that’s inaccurate.
Regardless, they're coming in fast, and soon, those Orion Vs are all gonna be going, going, gone.

Is that an MTA policy?
There's nothing magical about the 500k mark, other than it being indicative of an older bus that is likely becoming more expensive to maintain.
Yes it is. 500K miles is the threshold for buses to be retired at.

It’s not confirmed yet. Also, buses could not run for a while due to maintenance and upgrades for the bus. If they don’t run past Labor Day (especially the “since March” buses, then that can raise speculation.
But if this is true, then it’s time to question some more of the novas, 5853/54 (hasn’t ran since June), 5863/71/97, (hasn’t ran since July), and 5920 (hasn’t ran since July) are all sitting ducks right now.
Apparently, some 2010s are reaching their 500K mile limit early. Once any bus in the MTA hits 500,000 miles, then it has to retire.

1224 from GH Depot was seen at EC Scrap but the bus was there due to high mileage.
Also the 12xx that hasn't been running for awhile is 1205,1248,1272 & 1277.
1205 hasn't ran in awhile.
1224 hasn't ran since March.
1248 hasn't ran since May.
1272 hasn't ran since June of this year.
1277 hasn't ran since July.
#1224 Gun Hill confirmed retired
The first 2009-10 Novabus LFS Articulated to officially retire due to age and mileage (not counting #1201 and #1205 that were lost to fires years ago)

For every XDE40 that enters service, an Orion V is retiring. They're not making it to 2023.
