  1. I see what you mean, in your case definitely pick the B division so you would rarely ever have to go to the Bronx.
  2. 2+ Hours? I'm assuming you live upstate, Jersey or LI? Do you think you would enjoy the job more if you lived within the 5 boroughs?
  3. It's so weird, the OPA must be something new they're doing because I never needed to do it. Good luck to anybody doing it, do not give up hope!!
  4. Current pay is $24.31 per hour, and Oral assessment? What are they going to have you do? I don't remember taking one to get the job.
  5. What's your list number for 6601? Edit* (Sorry just saw it on the 6601 Forums)
  6. I'm part of the Conductor 6601 test and will start school car May 30th. Good luck to all the TO's starting soon, can't wait to see you guys on the road some day!
  7. Well the day has finally come that I got sworn in, 6 years of waiting and it finally happened. Just to give you guys some insight if you do medical, arrive as early as you can. They go by a first come first serve basis so I was out by 12 since I was the first one. When you do medical you do a Hearing test, EKG, Urine test and vision test, after you do all this you see a Doctor who does a psychical and eventually clears you. Once you're cleared you're basically hired that same day! They went over some paperwork, swore me in, gave me some info on the next class, took my picture for my ID and fingerprints and that was it. Some other advice I would give is make sure all your paperwork is in order, cause they will give you a hard time. For the money order it has to be from the post office or they will not take it. Also be ready to be on a medical hold if you're obese and have a 17in+ measure around your neck. Usually this is a sign for sleep apnea and they will make you get a test before they clear you so book an appointment ASAP if this is you. The process took forever and I was lost for a while, so below I will give a timeline for anybody that is in the same boat on how hiring works: Took Conductor test 6601 - 4/24/2016 List Number 49xx Got an email for first Pre-employment- 11/24/21 Got a 2nd email for Pre-employment again - 4/7/2022 (It's very common to do 1-3 pre-employments) Got an email for Medical - 5/6/2022 (Basically your hired if you're clear for medical) Class started- 5/30/2022 I will keep you guys posted on how Conductor training goes down the line! (If anybody has advice on Conductor training please PM ME!!)
  8. No I haven't done medical yet. It's common to do 1-3 pre-employments because they only last for 90 days due to the drug test expiring. If it's past 90 days they'll most likely call you back in to do another.
  9. Medical is whenever they call you for it. If you are cleared for everything you get sworn in the same day. For Conductor school, it starts May 30th.
  10. I had to do 2, 1st in November 24th and the 2nd April 8th.
  11. Awesome congrats! I'm very low 49xx so hopefully I hear something soon,
  12. Did you get an email for Medical or just an email about an upcoming class?
  13. Went in for my 2nd pre-employment today. Went by much faster then the first since they called 7 of us that already did the process before, was only there for 2 hours. Will keep updating you guys on the process as I get emails.
  14. I'm pretty sure you need a Valid Drivers Licenses so I would email them to be sure
  15. The pre-employment is only valid for 90 days. Unfortunately because they waited so long to get to me, I need to go in again and do the exact same process I did in November. This is very common to do the same process 1-3 times.
  16. Took my pre-employment in November 2021 and just got an email today to come back again April 8th for pre-employment. My list is 49##, so hopefully this is the last time I need to go in before I get an email to finally start medical.
  17. Thank you for the clarification, will definitely be showing up then.
  18. Hello guys, New to this forum but have a question about pre-employment. I got called for pre-employment in November 2021 for Conductor (Exam 6601 | List 49##). I completed the whole process regarding paperwork and the drug test and was told to wait for someone to get back to me (3-90 days). Fast forward to today and I got another email to do the pre-employment process again, pretty much identical to the last email I got in November. Is it common to do another pre-employment process after completing one already? I'm curious if this was sent in error or I actually need to go in again. Thanks,
