  1. Is this the camera you're talking about? If so, then you are able to set your ISO manually (your camera has ISO settings from 64 to 1600). When you take pictures underground, be sure to set the ISO to at least 400, or higher if needed. Hold the camera still, and hold the camera straight as well. This will improve how your pictures come out. If you look at your camera there will be a setting on Image Resolution. Always set this to at least 5M (2592x1944), or to a higher resolution. A higher resolution means that your camera can capture more detail in the photos. For white balance, set it to Flourescent or Incandescent depending on what kind of light there is in the station (usually Flourescent). I find that for Night mode, you have to keep the camera really still, especially since you're not using Flash.

But MOST IMPORTANTLY, your photo quality depends on what you take photos of. No matter how good your photo quality is it's not going to make a picture of the middle of the train, or a rollsign, any better.

wrong about setting ISO Manually. That camera ISO range cannot be set manually. It says lowest ISO Sensitivity which is 64 and highest Sensitivity which is 1600. That means that it auto ISO.

  2. The thing with a lot of point and shoot cameras is that you can't customize setting. I'm not familiar with the one you have, but the factors causing blurry pictures are: shutter speeds and exposure in the most part. Can you manually change those?

    I can change Exposure Compensation.

BTW what are the best scenes to set your camera on when your taking pics? I have portrait, Landscape, Sports, Night portrait, Party/Indoor, Beach/Snow, Sunset, Dusk Dawn, Night Landscape, Close Up. Museum, Copy, Backlight, Panorama assist.

Which one out of those are the best for taking subway pics?

  3. I've found a new setting on camera on White Balanced for underground shooting photos which is Incandescent, Fluorescent and for above ground daylight. So are those the cool settings I've found and I need to know if those settings are good?

The second question is that should I try doing the IRT 7th Avenue Lines or the BMT Broadway Lines all the way downtown or the IND 8th Avenue Line stations which is 14th Street (A)(C)(E)(L), Canal Street (A)(C)(E) or World Trade Center (E)

  4. That doesn't mean all Fujifilms are bad, it just means that particular model is bad. You need to shop for cameras by features, not just brands. For example, if you're going to take mainly subway pictures, you would need a camera with a digital image stabilization mode, High ISO mode, fast shutter speed, etc. BTW, I thought you had a Nikon D40?

no In said if I won the photo contest I'll buy the Nikon D40

  5. Even though my birthday past my uncle is buying me a birthday present and I'm trying to figure out what camera model should I get for my present. I'm thinking of the Nikon L11, the Sony W220 or the Canon A590IS. What other model should I get guys and the max is $200.00.

Note: This is propose option of getting a new camera and it's unknown If I want something else for present and I don't want Fujifilm or Hp Photosmart.

  6. Well, for a 12.1 Megapixel Cam with Memory Stick Pro -Duo at 180 bucks sharp. This one looks like a deal to me! So, go ahead and spoil yourself and get it, :P!

Although, I still recommend cameras that accept AA batteries with SD Cards since that is more popular combo.
