  1. Yep, it's brand new and has a revised rear end with a raiser. There was a lot of talk at the roadeo about it being built to MTA specs or not. I think it was built to (demo specs). We may see pull cords on the new buses.
  2. LOL... They want too many options on this bus! For God's sake, I've never known for any bus other than a OTR (MCI) coach to have a rear raiser. But I do think it will be a great bus once it goes into final production.
  3. But don't forget that thanks to MTA the rear end of the bus has been redesigned. This is a new option, that so far is exclusively for the TA. The order won't be cut, and Orion is doing everything possible to make sure MTA has the best O7 NG's on the road.
  4. Right, thats still confusing to me, but 3800 is supposed to be a production demo. What if it is built to MTA Specs????
  5. According to subchat, 3803, 3806-3813 are now at CAS.
  6. Now remember we are dealing with the MTA, so this is subject to change at any time. Manhattanville is supposed to get some because they have the oldest hybrids, but I don't think they will untill 2010. Delivery is sceduled for NYCT, MTAB, the the last back to NYCT.
  7. From what I have, this is who is on the list to receive some NG's NYCT CAS YUK CS MJQ GH KB QV FLA GA FP ENY MTAB BPK CPT (but they may end up being the CNG model) FAR JFK LGA SPK
  8. They only have like 57. They could use a few more. The remainder of their local fleet is 12+ years old. I hope they spread them out over all 5 boroughs.
  9. Most likely they will move to Casey Stengel, who is on the list to receive a batch as well. Castleton is doing what they do best. Jacking up buses. They haven't even been here a week and need body work. But whoever was overseeing the testing at CAS should have already known the wash clearance. Is that not logical??
  10. LOL... Don't you just love subscripions? I think thats the corner! BTW Nice vid!
  11. NG stands for Next Generation. The buses are redesigned Orion VII's, which are low floors. I don't see MTA ordering any high floors again. LIB will take delivery of Orion VII NG CNG's next year. The Bronx and Brooklyn CNG depots may get some in 2010.
  12. I wonder if this is the corner where the the Orion VII 1st gen. failed the road testing. Notice how the rear of the Orions appear to almost be touching the gound on that turn.
  13. Go right ahead man! You do it better anyway. Thats whats up!
  14. I know for a fact that 3800 is here according to a friend that works at Orion, and as far as the rest, that's the reason we are heading to SI this weekend. A B/O at Casleton said he has seen them, and he is a very reliable source, so I am inclined to believe him.
  15. Nobody knows for sure, but we think they may be at Zerega.
  16. So the buses are here! This Friday, Trevor Logan and Ray of TransitStuff along with myself will be going to get together Friday and get over to Staten Island to see these buses. Supposedly the 4300 MCI's will now be renumbered. Staten Island Division Casleton Depot 3800, 3801, 3805 Delivery plans: Casleton 3800-4025 to be complete by February Yukon 4026-4099 to follow
  17. This was one of the 3 demo buses ran out of Baisley Park a few months ago.
  18. As long as this demo bus passes the street inspection they could start coming in August or sooner. But if it doesn't...............
  19. I would assume New York City Bus. Thats where the forst 4 batches are supposed to go.
  20. That's what I'm thinking, but right now it's at Zerega to get registered. It came with only a blue stripe. No numbers, or MTA logos.
  21. Okay, so I have a major update! Things may be getting better for the Orion. It seems that at this time they may have worked out the tech problems, as well as redesigned the rear of the bus so it won't bottom out so easy. They have worked the changes into 2 of the 3 buses that have already been manufactured. Production on further buses will resume on Monday. The demo is now ready for testing! Oh, and did I mention they delivered it to Zerega today??!! I don't want to get too excited yet, but I hope it's at the Roadeo.
  22. What do you mean they have a few delivered??
