  1. Been working on the IND Rockaway Viaduct, for the A line. And,its been a while since I posted anything:
  2. Alright, alright, for future questions regarding Trainz, FAQ, and support, please post it in this thread: http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30516 This is a pictures thread, so let it remain that way. In the meantime, though, let me link you guys to a little something a friend of mine found on the internet: http://kurrasrailroads.dyndns.org/downloads.php
  3. If you have any questions, tips or tricks, or any problems relating to the Trainz Railroad Simulator series, post them here. We will try our best to get them answered efficiently.
  4. Hmm....interesting. The station house was never released, and it probably won't be, because there are a couple of things wrong with it. And just out of curiosity, and don't take this the wrong way, but...you wouldn't happen to know a member named Fooldak, from BVEStation, or 2 train, on the Auran forums, would you? @Strain: No, the M cars are not done yet.
  5. He didn't mention it, so therefore it's not under development. I needed him to post an image of what the train looked like. The project looks very promising, and I don't mind helping, but it'll need to be in .skp format. I spot a few things wrong with this model that need to be corrected before it can be exported. Strain, check your PM on the Auran forums.
  6. Before I answer this, I would like say, that whatever gets released and/or what's currently being worked on by me, and the team, will be denied all requests that are irrelevant to the main content. We're not making bits and pieces of content just to please one person, and like I said before; we're not from overseas. We are New Yorkers too, so we know what we're building. I know the physical and architectural aspects of the subway system far greater than anyone can imagine, so the possibility of me, or the team, overlooking anything that should belong in this content pack is very slim, so please, wait patiently until everything gets officially released before you criticize it. Alright, anyway: 1 - I thought of this even before I started this project, so yes, they will be implemented. 2 - No. The railing is attached to the end of a tie on the edge of every el, and it will remain that way in the pack. If you don't want to see gaps, place more catwalk splines(hold down the shift key to place extra splines in small places). I'll help with your custom content if you guys feel that you'd like to make it(don't hesitate to ask, but also, keep in mind that i'm not going to help just anyone), but we will not taking any more requests.
  7. Alright, lemme shed some light for you. I get textures from various parts of the Tri-state ares, with my trusty Samsung TL110(whose lens is starting to jam since dropping it on the ferry). Those textures consist of anything, from the railroad tracks to the very stations themselves, and are all stored on an 80GB backup hard drive(its only 80GB because I don't expect to fill it up anytime soon. I'm not one of those idiots who takes pictures for no reason), so what whenever I need something I know where to find it. Recently I've been letting other developers have access to that file library, but it takes a certain amount of skill to do so(as in i'm not giving out textures to anyone just because they need them). Green Eggs n' Pelham, and ExpressLine3Train on the Auran forums seems to be having no problem using these textures and they are doing great jobs with their projects. Also, I'm an expert at photo manipulation. I don't use raw images on my models(the TL110 takes 4320x3240 images while in smart mode) so I take pieces of various images and put them together to form a texture database for one object, as you can see above, on the Auran forums, and over on BVEStation.
  8. No, there are 35 pieces to this set, about 20 end pieces and 15 splines. Making every one of them in a different color would overload the content base(the end result would be 300+pieces to search through) so the station colors will depend on the lines that they come across the most.
  9. Time for another El station variation...I like that rhyme.B) As seen on the 7 and N lines in Queens.
  10. When you combine Green Eggs n' Pelham's stations with my subway tracks, you get this: I've added attachment points to the ends of this station. And with this one segment of track, the 3rd rails will always be on the correct side of the track.
  11. The ends of the stations will also have invisible track splines, so that you won't have to worry about the gap(obviously you need to use NYCTA equipment lol).
  12. I am NOT making this pack for Trainz 2004. I do not own Trainz 2004. You need to get some money, and upgrade to Trainz 2009.
  13. There is a difference between constructive criticism, common sense, and freeloading. Constructive criticism: The content that we released has been checked, double checked, and triple checked so that you wouldn't have to ask questions about it. The thing about development is that it is never done until something is released, and when it is, you can choose then to make your remarks. You don't hear a food critic telling a chef how to cook his meal all the way through the process, do you? I would also like to point out that we are New Yorkers too, not Indians, not Chinese, and not Russian. We are well aware of what the system looks like. Common sense: When we decide, develop, and release content, you should have a mind to say "I can use this and this to make it into something better". Moving back a few pages to where you mentioned that I had forgotten to add a part to my elevated rail pack, only to realize a page later that with a little bit of work, you could have overcome that without a response at all. Freeloading: Asking us every minute after every single picture we post, a new series of questions and/or requests does not help us in the least. If you think that I haven't spent the last five years making my content as accurate as possible then you are horribly mistaken. And please, cut down on the requests. We are not miracle workers. We will make what's beneficial for the community. Requests only help one majority of people. The el pack will soon help in the development of CTA routes. And if we decide that we want to pull back our content then that's our decision, not yours, and most definitely not the community. One of the reasons I believe Magicland left the community was because of the exact same thing going on right here, and even after he left everyone expects that he owed them something. This is the reason I started making my own content, ans this is why I encourage you all to do the same thing. The only reason the constructive criticism has gotten out of hand is because no one here, except an obvious handful of people, make content, and that is a fact. Now, let's get back on topic. I do not want to see this thread get locked.
  14. Lemme ask you something. Do you know how many years it will take to plop a dozen benches in a single station? To make sure that they're all aligned and that the station doesn't look sloppy? This is a brief suggestion to you all: When you get the content and you start making your Trainz routes, remember the person that made it for you. Remember that that person didn't have to do it for you. Magicland didn't have to make his subway splines. Jeffmorris didn't have to make his subway set. This is beyond picky from you guys; from ALL you guys, and its not fair to us to have to go back and redo dozens of pieces of content we spent hours, night and day, preparing for release. You may say that you understand the hard work that we do, but honestly I really don't think you do. So please, just enjoy what you're getting from here on out, because trust me, i'd drop everything I was doing in a heartbeat and leave you guys to do it.
  15. Yeah but how detailed were the stations? I can say off the top that Jeffmorris's stations didn't exceed 10,000 polygons. Anyway, I'd like to announce that i'm releasing the Vintage NYCTA Elevated Rail Pack, just like the one before it. Pic: 1 - [V]NYCTA El Girders 2 - [V]NYCTA El Girders and Catwalk 3 - [V]NYCTA El Track No 3rd 4 - [V]NYCTA El Track No 3rd Diverge 5 - [V]NYCTA El Track No 3rd Diverge and Handrail 6 - [V]NYCTA El Track No 3rd Handrail 1x 7 - [V]NYCTA El Track No 3rd Handrail 2x 8 - [V]NYCTA El Track No 3rd No Sides 9 - [V]NYCTA El Track With 3rd 10 - [V]NYCTA El Track With 3rd Diverge 11 - [V]NYCTA El Track With 3rd Diverge and Handrail 12 - [V]NYCTA El Track With 3rd Handrail 1x 13 - [V]NYCTA El Track With 3rd Handrail 2x 14 - [V]NYCTA El Support 15 - [V]NYCTA El Support Double Height The "V" stands for "Vintage," of course. and here's the link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/pblhn1xx5caxnz9/Vintage%20NYCTA%20Elevated%20Trestle%20Pack.rar Enjoy!
  16. Why? That is a waste of resources and a big headache for the developer. Neither Magicland, Jeffmorris, or my content was made like that, which was made in the event that the subway sets may be used for systems other than NYCTA. These will be splines however, so that you can make the stations 175 and 200 meters long. @Strain: By the time you're finished making that station, it will already have exceeded 30,000 polygons(which is more than double the size of my R160 model), so there's no point. This is why Green Eggs n' Pelham is making the station splines and not separate stations from all across the system. If you want to name the stations we can always make re-nameable station signs.
  17. I'd also like to point out something. The 3rd rail is never on the side closest to the edge, because that's where the workers' catwalk is, and the electrical arc could shock them. Other than for crossovers, the 3rd rail is opposite the catwalk or handrail(unless the handrail is on both sides, which makes it obvious). This goes the same in subway tunnels as well. I'm glad my el pack is favored by so many. The content looks very impressive. I'll have the alternate package out soon. Keep up the good work, guys!
  18. The catwalks are a different shade because when exposed to the sun for the amount of time that it has, it's color begins to fade(like what happens to old clothes). When MTA replaces the tracks the catwalk is replaced as well, so no.
  19. No. For one, NYCTA tracks do not bend in 90 degrees around heavy corners(even on the J around Crescent and Jamaica there's some leg room, because it also cuts across buildings below) I made them 5 meters so that they will replicate properly. The CTA pack i'm collaborating for someone else will have more leg room than this, because CTA takes on epic hard turns at times and it will need the reduction in meters. And yes, there's a password on the file. Read the readme(it is meant so that you read the file and read the rules I set out). And this is NOT for Trainz 2004. I'm not one to put people down or anything, but come on. It's been seven years since 2004 came out. I REALLY think it's time for an upgrade.
  20. And here it is. Enjoy! http://www.mediafire.com/file/jo5q8pn8ivesgfg/NYCTA%20Elevated%20Trestle%20Pack.rar
  21. Now the entire el pack is in game and is nearing release(I have to test it first ) *Enlarge the image if you can't see it clearly. Alright, now for a brief knowing of the parts, fifteen in all. They're all track splines(except for the supports), so there's no need to worry about connection issues: 1 - NYCTA El Girders 2 - NYCTA El Girders and Catwalk 3 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd 4 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Diverge 5 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Diverge and Handrail 6 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Handrail 1x 7 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd Handrail 2x 8 - NYCTA El Track No 3rd No Sides 9 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd 10 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Diverge 11 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Diverge and Handrail 12 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Handrail 1x 13 - NYCTA El Track With 3rd Handrail 2x 14 - NYCTA El Support 15 - NYCTA El Support Double Height The sixteenth CDP will be a test route showing you how to use the various parts properly. I'll be releasing them on Tuesday. The first version will be compatible from TRS2006 to TC. The next will be from TRS2009 and beyond. The third and fourth will be mirror versions of these, except they will be vintage-themed, as originally planned. After that, I will work on the el stations, and then the elevated pack will be completed.
  22. What I meant when I said kick it "up" a notch, I meant "elevated". The entire el pack is done: I'll be getting back to the elevated stations ASAP.
  23. I'm going to start releasing parts of this project in phases. This is Phase 1, the first set of stations. The next phases will feature more station designs, and will be more detailed than these. By the time this is over this will be one whole pack, and it will be available to all versions from Trainz 2006 up. Part one, picture: And Link(Trainz Classics and above): http://www.mediafire.com/?ymj4ymd22uu9bck Enjoy! And expect more updates soon!
  24. Well when you order it again there will be some stellar content waiting for you. More eye candy. WARNING!!! View image at your own risk! I will not be held responsible for the spontaneous combustion of your eyes when viewing the image below.B)
