  1. Following convention, 100-104 should get towed from the parking lot to 36/38th street yard in the early morning hours on 5/5.
  2. 100-103 sitting at the staging lot at Goethals for delivery to SBK tonight. Checked; same traction motors as the regular R211s, didn't notice any difference in the trucks.
  3. Also unlikely. The set maximum speed of 55 mph is plenty for Staten Island.
  4. I doubt it, but I'll take a look later today.
  5. When I spoke to the driver during the delivery of 4080-4084 w/e 4/8, I believe the plan had been to deliver a 5-car set per week, which would have seen 85-89 delivered w/e 4/15. Since that set didn't end up getting delivered until w/e 4/29, and the driver had said the plan was to get the Staten Island test set delivered w/e 4/29, I would guess they're a few weeks behind schedule for whatever reason. I still think it would be reasonable to see the R211S test set get delivered some time around mid-May or so. Remember we still don't have the second half of the soft gangway set on property yet (4055-59), so that has to come some time as well.
  6. Confirmed from a reliable source (not a foamer, mind you lol) that the train is out of service for propulsion issues. Hopefully they find a resolution quickly and can get the set back into service.
  7. From what I've been told, it's several times more than twice now.
  8. there is no "after the 30 day test" considering it hasn't ended yet.
  9. 4085-4087 were delivered late evening of April 25th / early morning of April 26th. As stated previously, they want to have at least 3 full trains ready (or at least almost ready) to go as soon as the 30-day test train passes and the fleet type is conditionally accepted. That's why 4070-4079 have already started burn-in testing even though 60-69 are still in the 30-day test cycle, which I'm pretty sure just reset back to day 0 without failure after losing power on the 26th. Thus they will likely continue to receive deliveries on a regular basis.
  10. You have to remember that the R211 fleet has not been conditionally accepted yet. As such, Pitkin yard and CI shops are the only two facilities that would have maintenance personnel qualified to work on the train. Additionally, Kawasaki personnel probably would not be based at 207 since, again, it has not been conditionally accepted yet.
  11. Probably. If there is one, it's just not public.
  12. oh they didn't even get to the 9x set yet.... they're more behind than I thought. That means 4085-4087 should be coming across from NJ tonight in a few hours.
  13. Sounds like a regular R211A delivery tonight, if anything at all, probably the first part of the 4090-4094 set. Will confirm when I have more info. Based on the gap between the last delivery, the SIRT R211 is probably delayed until mid-May.
  14. You're right; I asked around, apparently there've been multiple clock resets that they've been quiet about. With the OOS yesterday (4/11/23), we're probably back on day 1 as of today, if it even ran today.
  15. It's in pool service now. It could end up on any rotation on any day, provided they have qualified crews on those rotations.
  16. Someone spotted additional cars in transit through Metuchen / Metropark earlier today; I presume those would belong to the 4085-4089 set.
  17. lol the HVACs on the 211s are also LOUD AF when the fans are on.
  18. 4080-4084 up for delivery this week. 4084-83 are staging at Goethals now, to go over between 10:30pm and midnight. 82-80 to be delivered tomorrow night. Driver also stated that the first 5-car set of R211S is scheduled to be delivered the final week of April.
  19. That is exactly the reason. All new rolling stock since the R188 for the A division and R179 for the B division have one free-wheeling axle per unitized set. The A division NTTs already have one unpowered truck on the B cars, so the CBTC odometer was installed onto one of them, turning it into a C car. The R179s have the one unpowered truck with one free-wheeling axle on the lowest number A car of the set (designated A1, as opposed to the fully motorized A2 car) located at the number 2 end of the car (non-cab end). The R211s have that unpowered truck located at the cab end of the A1 car, which is again the lowest numbered car in the set. There is plenty excess horsepower from the propulsion system to maintain baseline performance even with the addition of what is essentially 1 unpowered car per full length train. Same goes for braking capacity; you're basically only adding 1 un-braked truck per full length train.
  20. Ok, ran through some reported train times, cross referenced with the public timetable and came up with potential rotation assignments for the weekend (there's only two more of them anyway). Saturday 0626 Euclid > Lefferts 0637 0702 Lefferts > 207 0822 0829 207 > Far Rock 1007 1031 Far Rock > 207 1212 1219 207 > Lefferts 1336 1402 Lefferts > 207 1522 1529 207 > Far Rock 1707 1731 Far Rock > 207 1912 1919 207 > Lefferts 2036 Dropout Sunday 0726 Euclid > Lefferts 0737 0755 Lefferts > 207 0912 0917 207 > Far Rock 1054 1104 Far Rock > 207 1241 1249 207 > Far Rock 1426 1444 Far Rock > 207 1621 1629 207 > Far Rock 1706 Dropout Again, with all the weekend service changes, this is probably moot anyway.
  21. If the guy who shared this had posted the rest of the memo, I would have passed it on here; unfortunately that was not the case. At any rate, with all the weekend G/Os running, the recommended weekend rotations are probably thrown out the window.
  22. Welp, someone posted this on Facebook, so I don't feel bad sharing it.
  23. We hit 48 mph southbound between Howard Beach and Broad Channel, which is pretty standard from my experience. Can't speak on the specifics of how the train responds to command inputs from the MC. Here's my shots from the first week of testing:
