  1. Unless I'm reading the schedule wrong there's supposed to be a revenue trip leaving Far Rock at 8:24pm for 207. It didn't run due to the train being dropped out to the yard, ie, the interval was abandoned.
  2. Damn, and I drove past there tonight and didn't look closely enough to see them; would have stopped by. As for the schedule, this is what the test train ran today: 0644 Euclid to Far Rock 0728 Far Rock to 207 (scheduled into Jay-Metrotech at 0823) 0931 207 to Lefferts 1106 Lefferts to 207 1239 207 to Lefferts 1416 Lefferts to 207 1544 207 to Lefferts 1709 Lefferts to 207 1835 207 to Far Rock 2024 ABD dropout Far Rock to Pitkin https://new.mta.info/document/9466 - A train full timetable
  3. lol bruh, why is he laying on the ground tho..... it's loud enough if you just crack the door open.
  4. When I was riding today, car 4060 (south motor), one of the A cars that's only half motorized was running with dead motors lol. Guess they didn't deem it too big an issue bc it looks like they're proceeding normally.
  5. Meh.... you're trying to say that PATH which only has a dozen or so miles of ROW (of which only abound half is underground) is comparable to systems with hundred(s) of miles. Yea, kinda missing the mark with that comparison there buddy.
  6. lmao the train is literally just making runs up and down the A; you sit somewhere long enough, it'll pass by.
  7. R143/160/179: A car - 40 to 42 seats B car - 44 seats R211: All cars have 30 seats
  8. Even if such a ban passed, it would be unenforceable. The system is too big, and there are too many of us. They'd be creating an even bigger problem than they already have now. What they NEED to do is more effectively police trouble areas on the system and identify potential magnet events like today's R211 run and put cops on the actual train.
  9. Guess they pulled the train after it completed the 6:02 pm run from 207 to far rock and brought it back to Pitkin. Not a bad first day besides the drama at 181st. That's a good plan actually. I bet the TA can't wait to start chucking the R46s to the scrapper; those cars really have seen better days. Amtrak is basically doing the same thing with the new Acelas. Once the FRA certifies them, 5 trainsets are going into service at once (late this fall or early next year). Also, RE the incident at 181st, apparently the kid that got jumped was talking smack about the subway surfer who died back in December. The surfer's GF caught wind and tried to drag him off the train, then a bunch of other people piled onto it at started swinging at the kid.
  10. Yes. 30-days continuous with no disqualifying issues. Otherwise, the clock has to be reset to 0 and the test re-started after the issue has been corrected. If the test is passed, NYCT will start receiving the rest of the R211A base order.
  11. If I'm reading the schedule correctly, they *should* make the 7:42 pm trip out of far rock back to 207, then probably go out of service and deadhead back to pitkin or something. The train made the 6:02 pm departure out of 207 to far rock.
  12. The post stating 7:30 am sounds like the sign on time for the test train to broad channel. The ~2pm run out of 207 is the revenue test.
  13. ^THIS. What too many people don't understand is that the more you computerize something, the more complicated it gets, resulting in longer test periods where more potential issues can arise that need debugging. This isn't a old fashioned SMEE or AMUE car where everything is governed by electrical relays that either have an on or off state and are basic enough that they used to have motormen carry around tools to make on-the-road repairs. We are seeing this kind of prolonged testing happen with equipment all over the country these days. Simply put, with computerized control systems being the norm now, it'll be ready when it is ready.
  14. lmao that's not how any of this works....
  15. Why is the flag being on there such a big deal all of a sudden? It's on basically every other piece of equipment in the system...
  16. I heard a combination of lingering electrical problems / governor not available.
  17. Guess it's not gonna b tomorrow bois.
  18. As of May 28th, a section of track between Hamilton and Jersey Avenue in New Jersey has been upgraded from 135 mph operations to 145-150 mph operations. It has been a long time coming, as the construction work to install constant tension catenary in NJ started over a decade ago, and is still incomplete. It is unknown to me how much longer the project will take, but the remaining section to be done lies between Princeton Junction and Trenton. For now, enjoy the 150 mph Acelas at Princeton.
  19. This is an embarrassment. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that this was United Airlines lol. The Transit Museum should be proud of the way their hired muscle shoved people around on the train today. Completely unprofessional.
  20. Ok, you're free to disagree. But we're in America, not Europe, so you're working with a completely different set of logistical factors. You can't compare apples and oranges as if they're on the same level playing field. Ultimately, it comes down to cost. If you want to sit here and complain about silly shit that you think isn't right, then pony up the $$$ so that they can run the operation the way you want them to. Otherwise, the most cost effective route is the one that's going to be taken.
  21. It does not appear so. It looks like they're still testing systems.
  22. No. Acceleration conforms to the design spec of 2.5 mph/s. As for the propulsion, it is my opinion after watching the following video that the R211 is just a higher pitched 1996 Tube Stock lol: 1996TS to compare:
  23. The test train making its normal run to the test track and back today:
