  1. Thank you for your reply I appreciate it. I joined on the FB group but I don't if you are in that group. They didn't mention in FB that it was in Flushing queens the even but I know this because i went to the MTA website and that's how I know. I just went to FB group and someone post my comment. Thank you so much for whoever posted my comment. I will definitely write to the MTA. Well I wrote to the MTA and then there is an error and it says" Unable to submit feedback. Please contact MTA customer service for assistance." Are they serious? I think I am done speak to the MTA. They useless CRAP! Again sorry for frustration and apologies again.
  2. Did anyone go to the Main Street Flushing Queens bus redesign feedback event? After work I get off at my station Flushing Main street. I am frustrated because I didn't find any tables at all nor people inside the 7 line between Dune Reade exit stairs. So I said maybe it is near Macy entrance. Then I went to the Macy entrance and went downstairs and I did not find any tables. I ask the token both rep and she replied the famous MTA line " I don't know". She said there are poster on the wall and I said yes but I don't see any tables. Then the rep didn't understand what I was saying. She then told me to call 5-1-1. Is she serious?? Call 511 to ask where the event is held and where it is located??? GIVE ME BREAK! I so angry and frustrated. Then I went back up and decided to cross the street and I saw 2 people has signs and under their arms. After I got downstairs I ask the 2 college kids do you know where the Queens bus redesign table is? To my surprise they said to me "There are no tables and it is ONLY us 2 people doing the Queens bus redesign". WHAT?? Is that MTA serious that they ONLY have 2 people an they are college kids and there are no adults or a table that says Queens Bus Redesign feed back? Anyway I gave me feedback on the Q61 and the Q15 route where I mostly take that route. I ask the 2 college kids and they didn't even wear a shirt saying MTA. OMG this is a joke. They just have a clipboard and a plain pin saying "Ask me a question?" They didn't even wear a MTA vest. The MTA expect a Queens Bus Redesign Feedback?? How the heck will people know when there are no tables inside the subway station and no poster inside the station? The 2 college kids said "Yes we been going up and downstairs" since 4PM to get feedback. How can the MTA run their "business" like this and all they want is to raise the price of the subway and bus fare. What Feedback is this? It is nonsense where people don't know where it is and there are no tables to be found. No wonder I didn't see people giving feedback because there is no table to be seen. Anyway my feedback is the Q61 I can't have 30 minutes wait in the wee early morning and it has to be 10 minutes. Peak AM is 10 minutes. Mid-day is 15 minutes. Peak PM is 10 minutes and Evening 10 minutes and late evening is 20 minutes. For the Q15 I wanted the same as the Q61 bus. For Saturday and Service it is even 10 minutes. I expected MTA to be unorganized but I didn't expect this would happen for a Queens Bus Redesign feed back UGH! I asked if Richard Davy was there (President of MTA) and those college kids said "No he is not scheduled to be here". I said I have to speak to him about the feedback and other things like customer service. Sorry about the rant but I am just telling my experience after I went to what the MTA calls "Queens Bus Redesign Feedback". I hope if any of you do go to the Queens Bus Redesign Feedback you don't experience anything what I experience today. The schedule for "In person bus redesign feedback" is here: https://new.mta.info/document/134101 The redesign team will be out in communities across Queens on the dates listed below from 4-7 p.m. In the case of extreme weather, events may be rescheduled so customers are advised to check the project webpage before heading out to an event. 3. It means July 2029. It has 5 years to expire when your OMNY card. If you buy at retails it expires 7 year since your purchase date. I remember that the MTA when they first introduced the OMNY card and you had to purchase at the retail stores they said 7 years. But then they started the OMNY vending machine last year and then they said it's for 5 years then it will expire so it shortened 2 years by retail stores.
  4. The year would be as in my example Aug 8 and the 28 stands for the year 2028.
  5. The Card expiration date is at the back of the card where the bar code is. It says card # and CVV# and finally it says "Card Exp 08/28".
  6. Hmmm then the other metro card is a new expiration date. I have to see when I get mine in March 31,2024 when exchange it. I also have another metro card which expires December 31,2024. Let see when that expires at the end of the year and when I exchange for a new one let's see if there will be a new expiration date past May 2025 then we will know when the metro card is really decommissioned.
  7. Yes because I work in Brooklyn from queens and I have to take the 1st bus and get there because if I take the 2nd bus I will be late. For example I am taking the Q34 bus at 5:00AM in the morning and get to work by 8:00AM. Sometimes the 5:00AM bus does not come so I have to take the 2nd Q34 bus at 5:20AM. If I take the 5:20AM and there are problems with the subways then I am screwed and I will be late like 8:15AM. If I take the 5:00AM bus I get to work at 7:00AM but I start at 8:00AM. Then for 1 hr I can rest eat my breakfast etc before I start my work day. Once I took the Q15 at 5:20AM same time as the Q34 bus I got to work at 8:15AM because there was a subway problem. Then there is a problem on the new scheduled I tried the map (Future trip planner) Q61 and it will come at 4:52AM and arrive at Main at 5:09AM so that is doable for me. The next would 5:13A and get to main at 5:32A and that is cutting close to 8:00AM at work yikes!
  8. Yes right yesterday I made an excel sheet and to see what the Q61 times are and it is 15-20 minutes rush but that is not good it needs like every 10 minutes during rush hours. IF no rush hours it should be 15-20 minutes. Anyway, I am going to put my input on March 26, 2024 when the popup even is coming to Flushing. I hope a lot of people in this forum will give a lot of feedback then.
  9. I see I though when I download the file it is like the MTA where you have the physical map and you can plan things out on your computer instead of going to the website.
  10. I clicked on GTFS-Trips folder. Then they have the following documents agency, calendar, routes, shapes, stop_times, stops, and trips. Then I click each one of the documents and it just has texts. 11. I download it has 2 folders but one says MAC OSX and GTFS-TRIPS_978cad10_2024-02-23-16-19-36. When click on GTFS-TRIPS_978cad10_2024-02-23-16-19-36 it only has text and it is like jumbled up. Is this only to be used on a Macintosh computer?
  12. Luck you! OK so for the rest of us "general consumer" I guess it will be 2025 of January then.
  13. Yes a piece of Metro Card history. I wonder what it cost in future if you decided to sell that or any metro card. It will be "retro metro card" then and let's say hmmmm 30 years from now? Hmmm
  14. Is this on Auto Pay or a brand new Metro card? I will get my new metro card on March 31,2024 and let's see what it says. If it says till 2026 then I think there will be more time with the Metro Cards. Hmmmm
  15. MTA POP EVENT Queens Bus redesign I was searching something about the MTA and they will do a POP UP EVENT for the Queens bus redesign: https://new.mta.info/press-release/mta-announces-public-consultation-pop-events-latest-queens-bus-network-redesign MTA Announces Public Consultation Pop-Up Events on Latest Queens Bus Network Redesign Proposed Final Plan MTA Updated March 5, 2024 7:15 p.m. Seventeen Pop-Up Sites Provide In-Person Opportunity to Collect Feedback from Community; Five in Partnership with MTA Mobile Sales Vehicles Pop-Up Events Scheduled from March 25 through May 13 Download Schedule Data Behind Trip Planner Tool See Map With Locations of Outreach Events The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced the locations of 12 outdoor pop-up events and five outreach events in partnership with the MTA’s Mobile Sale Vehicles to engage with customers in person and gather feedback on the latest version of the Queens Bus Network Redesign beginning Monday, March 25. Since the release of the Proposed Final Plan in December 2023, the MTA has met with and presented to community boards, elected officials, community institutions and other stakeholders. Details of future events including five open houses will be announced at a later date. With the release of the Proposed Final Plan in December 2023, the MTA also launched the Future Trip Planner, which allows customers to input a start and end location and see an overview of their trip with the bus route changes in effect. The Future Trip Planner is populated with data from the schedules written for the Proposed Final, which is now available for download on the Queens Bus Network Redesign project page. “Queens is the borough most reliant on good bus service and it is critical that this redesign deliver service improvements to the hundreds of thousands of riders who need it,” said NYC Transit President Richard Davey. “By listening to and working with customers and communities across the World’s Borough, we’ve developed a plan to improve connections, speed up trips, and reduce wait times. We are committed to giving Queens bus riders even more in-person opportunities to learn, ask questions, and comment on the plan directly during these pop-up events, which are scheduled during peak travel times to reach as many people as possible. I look forward to hearing from customers directly and delivering the modern, better bus network Queens deserves.” The Redesign Team will be out in communities across Queens at the dates listed below from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, events may be rescheduled so customers are advised to check the project webpage before heading out to an event. 16. Yes that is true each new Metrocard now has a expiration date of 1/31/2025 and I think the end of the Metrocard will be on that date. I think this would be the "hint" that after that date on Feb 1, 2025 it will be all OMNY then. Ahhhh I didn't know that the MTA customer service claiming this month the expiration date is 9/30/2024. Thanks for the update. Next month my Metro Card will expires because I bought the Metro card 2 years ago (2022) and it will expire 3/31/2024 and I will exchange for a new Metro Card and let's see what the Metro Card expiration says for the new exchange Metro Card I will have. Will post after I get the exchange Metro card. Re-guarding about the Reduce fare physical OMNY card in fact I called OMNY Customer service yesterday 2-28-24 and I asked when will be the Reduce Fare Physical OMNY card come and the guy told me right now they don't have time for it and the say said "maybe" June or July but he said I would not be surprised that the Reduce Fare Physical OMNY card will be switched over maybe in the beginning of 2025 at the very least. I asked him about the Metro Card expiration and when it will phase out and the guy said when all the Reduce Fare Physical OMNY card are given out then they will phase out the Metro Card. Another words there is no end date when the Metro Card will be phased out. Well enjoy the Metro card as you can because once it phase out the Metro Card will be history. I don't like Metro Card but I am use it to it now. I use it because of the 30 day unlimited option. In April the MTA will do the monthly meeting as usual and they will discuss OMNY and mostly likely I hope they will then say when the Metro Card will be phased out. Well if it's phased out and we still have the Metro Card that is unused and it is a 30 days unlimited then will have to return the Metro Card to get a refund.
  17. I just heard that the MTA states they don't when they will phase out the Metro Card from this podcast at Gothamist: https://gothamist.com/news/why-omny-readers-at-the-back-of-mta-buses-are-effectively-useless-right-now Scroll down to hear the post cast. Go to time 3:55-4:05 and it will "briefly" talk about that. They said there is "no time line" when they will discontinue the Metro Card. This article is talking about buses not using OMNY readers at the back of the bus and it will not turn on and the reason why it will not be turned on. Well know why and it is "not paying the fares".
  18. I so agree with you. Everything the MTA does is delayed and we will wait forever.
  19. My guess waiting for the MTA to give out the employees using OMNY it is going to take another year (2025 my guess around the summer) to wait and everything they do is SLOW but jacking the prices is what they do best. I understand they have to check everything to make sure is right but still. Well the longer the wait the longer I can still use my monthly Metro Card.
  20. What stations are those? The ones I got too they are working. Unless they are doing maintenance. I stills says "Metro card" only?
  21. Yes I see it is like me calling the reps about when the senior reduce fare physical OMNY card will be mail and they don't even know when they will mail it. Also they don't even know when all the OMNY vending machines will be install at all the 472 stations.
  22. Yes before they did require you to have a Metrocard and then you can convert to OMNY but now I don't for people who didn't have reduce fare card and when they apply I think they will get OMNY instantly.
  23. Yes they can go and come and never had a "stable date". It's like one come in one ear and goes out the other ear.
  24. Yes but I called the MTA and they said it is this year but "does not have a set date yet". You know how the MTA likes to play with people minds. They said this but and then it ends up being different. This is why i never believe the MTA at all what ever they say and I just take a grain of salt.
