  1. I have a brand new NYS ID that I got from the dmv. And am working on getting my license back. Thanks for all the feedback.
  2. I read the job requirements also and nowhere in it did it mention or state that a drivers license was a requisite requirement for the job. I know the NYCT, LIRR, and Metro North are different worlds. But if it were a requirement then LIRR would have put it in the job announcement on line . I am in the process of taking care of my DL.
  3. Yes it's for the open house. But if I have to have a license at the time of the open house they may not even let me in. When I put in for the job I don't remember seeing a drivers license as a qualification or did I miss it? But thanks for the info.......
  4. Ok is a drivers license required for this job? I don't have one right now but I don't have any dwi or dui's. I got the email yesterday to come on the 10th of February . Just finished my probation at transit. And the drivers license issue wasn't a real big deal as long as I had no dwi dui's . Can't believe I got the call!
  5. Who said I worked for the post office? Don't let my screen name fool you!....... I'm just giving you guys some 411.
  6. ???????????????......Are u saying that your in school car now?
  7. I just want let you guys know I've been a conductor for the past nine months out on the road on my own and there is definitely a need for train operators down here so the classes may continue.
  8. If you're in FERS then transit has a better pension. Roll over any 401k plan that you may have. As a train operator you start at a little over 30.00 per hour. So unless you're a supervisor its a no Brainer.
  9. No news is good news in this case. A phone call to come in for the medical is what your looking for.
  10. I'm in school car conductor and there are new t/o classes right now. My class had to wait for an empty class room. I don't think that getting called is as much a problem as getting through school car. The success rate for t/o school car probies is not great. The signal test is the big culprit. You must get 100% on it. So there is a real turnover problem. So even if your list is a little high you may get a chance. And I got this info from school car.
  11. How long does it take to get your first check after you start school car.
  12. Congrats Justin08 I will be there on the 11th for my DT also. i have on e question . Are they asking for a drivers abstract this time?
  13. And its a thread not format. I don't usually respond to people who ridicule others but this forum is for info about transit employment. What happens to on title may affect another. Mature adults who are respectful understand this simple concept. My intention is to gather what info I can that may be useful to myself and others. And as a point in fact you are not a train operator! You are just like a lot of us here trying to get the job!
  14. I DO BUT Breath! There is always 1 in the bunch, NO disrespect to real T.O.'s intended. There are some who are on both lists. But you Einstein already knew that right?
  15. Ant says 40 conductors and Poughkeepsie says 30 in the last class which was July. So which is it ladies and gents? And congrats to all who are being called for T.O. school car! I also realize that this is a T.O. thread. I read a lot of threads in this forum. Info is where one finds it.
  16. So you say 40 conductors were in the july class? From what I have been reading in this forum the amount of conductors in a school car class has been 30. If the TA is increasing class size then both lists should move a bit faster now. Thanks for the info!
  17. You know what your schedule looks like
  18. Poughkipsee is this medical for train operator?
  19. Take what comes your way! And congrats!
