Just bought the SONY SLT-A99 and some expensive accessories and now I find out that SONY is on the verge of releasing an even better camera that happens to be cheaper too… The accessories are not compatible, so I've essentially locked myself into an obsolescing product.
It's a stellar upgrade compared to what I've previously been using, so I don't mind. Plus, shopping around for the lowest prices means I would have to return not only the camera, but all of the compatible accessories to many different vendors. The restocking fees won't be worth it.
Sony's αR7 is pretty much a Sony camera with Nikon's image quality. Nikon's highest quality camera (D800E) happens to be—ironically—using a Sony sensor inside which Sony has finally put in one of its own cameras. It's also cheaper than both of those cameras.
