  1. I've really been getting into rollsigns. I was able to get my hands on an old BMT rollsign. I'm not sure which car type it came from, but the destinations show pre-Christie St connection service. Also, the roll is printed duplex-style (2-sided). Does anyone know which car this roll is from?
  2. OK, so the roll I might be thinking of is the Akzidenz one, which has more uniform font size throughout the roll. I did mention earlier that I was whittling down my collection, and I've seen that there are tons of people who love the subway. Just from offering these pieces for the last month, I've sent pieces all over the country, including Hawaii.
  3. Also, if anyone's interested, I have R32 rollsign pieces for sale on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/smallfire85/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= Yeah, I'm one of those guys. The look quite impressive as standalone pieces. The ones up on ebay are the larger exterior pieces. I have the smaller interior pieces also, PM me if your interested, or even if you want to work out a deal with what I have up.
  4. The rolls for the R30s/32s/38s (as it's printed on the roll) have the JFK Express on it. I've seen at least one roll that has "Train to the Plane" printed next to the . I posted this earlier, but it seems that post was one of the lost ones. I had this on my wall before we moved to MD:
  5. Nice! I've been trying to get my hands on an R27-30 sign like that, and I know that I've seen a similar sign on a few R32s. That sign has "train to the plane" for the JFK Express, right?
  6. This is one of my favorite Manhattan Maps: A side-by-side subway and bus visitor's map of Manhattan from 86th St down:

  8. I will put up a list of what I'm parting with tomorrow. Basically I'm looking to sell a bunch of subway schedules dated between 1996 and 2008 and maps between 1995 and 2008 In the mean time, I managed to snag a DC Metro rollsign for a steal:
  9. Still digging through, but what would you have to trade?
  10. I am in the process of scaling down my maps and schedules collection. I will post what I plan on selling\trading when I'm done sorting through the stuff.
  11. Hi all, I don't post often, but I read this citylab article about the need for a full length SAS, and the political hurdles that hinder such a view. If seen these ideas and houghts on the forums, but never in an article as such. Link: http://www.citylab.com/commute/2014/07/nyc-cant-afford-to-build-the-second-avenue-subway-and-it-cant-afford-not-to/374538/ "In New York City history and lore, the Second Avenue subway is the Loch Ness Monster crossed with the Abominable Snowman. Politicians, transit planners, and everyone in between have witnessed this East Side subway line face countless stops and starts, lost promises and changed plans. So even as construction crews work around the clock to build a portion of this long-aborning line, many native New Yorkers (my father among them) say they won't believe in its existence until they ride the train itself."
  12. Good evening everyone, Did anybody hear about any issues on the this afternoon? Otherwise, is there a site that keeps record of past service status updates that are issued? SPS
