Okay, let's look at this from a standpoint of basic logic,

1: they are still based out of Pitkin, as that is the barn with the parts and experience to care for them, and where more testing can be done as needed.

2: Something is preventing them from running express, that smoke detector thing does make a lot of sense, but since I have not spoken to anyone in the know about it yet, I can't get confirmation about it.

If they can't run express, and you want them to still be based at Pitkin... What else is there to do but put them on the C? this also means they can be returned to the yard at night no matter what, no screwing around with the departures to ensure they're both laid up.

The "smoke detector" or lack thereof is pretty much the reason why the R211Ts cannot operate on CPW and Fulton St Express in passenger service....

You don't have to rely on talking points if the merits of what's attempting to be accomplished are on point.

Nailed it... West of Fresh Meadows is definitely more dense than east of it....

Hmmm..... There's a game where you can create a (bus) network on steam?

What's the name of it, if I may ask? And what's the ultimate point of the game (is it akin to sim city or something)?

Q7:  When I replied to @Ex696 post below, I was thinking about something similar, but different.... With the Q8 being shifted to New Lots (3), they're going to end up needing more B13 service south of the (J)... Which then led to the thought of, what if the B13 was split to only run b/w Jamaica av & Gateway Mall, to have the Ridgewood portion of the B13 run along Jamaica av to Lane H.S., to eventually run down Rockaway Blvd & end at the Casino or whatever....

Q8: Same... I see it being more useful as an interborough route, compared to the current Q8.... Just got through mentioning about terminal space in one of the posts I replied to yesterday.... Forgot they also had the B103 proposed to running up there... If they'd just have the proposed B5/B6 & the Q8 ending there, I think they could pull it off.... Throwing the B103 into the mix, there's not a chance in hell -  especially with them wanting to cut the route from Downtown... Something would have to give... If push came to shove, I'd support the Q8 ending there, moreso than the B103....

Q111: Yeah, they kept those trips running to Cedarhurst.... For what, is the question I have.

Q113/114: Being perfectly honest, outside of the flooding issues along snake road, I didn't have a problem with Brewer service when it was just the Q111/113.

Yup, Spring Creek is still growing.... With the Q8 no longer masking the need for more B13 service south of Euclid subway, they're going to end up needing more B13's running b/w the (J) & Gateway Mall....

Q8: 101st av riders in-particular? No..... But what I do think though, is that the Q8 would be a stronger interborough route in the network if you had people in close enough proximity to the (3) taking the subway to the Q8 to get to Jamaica (or Woodhaven blvd., or Lefferts blvd), than how lowly used the current Q8 is, connecting Queens to Gateway Mall.... Most people taking Q8's to/from Gateway Mall are Brooklynites... Most folks that take the Q8 from along/around 101st av. due west, tend to not ride past Euclid (A)(C)...

The proposed B5 will terminate at Gateway Center and the B103 is proposed to terminate at New Lots IRT....

I know exactly what you’re saying. 5 days a week We’d leave the terminal on time but 26 minutes later we’d be held in the loop at 149th Street and the Concourse while my so called follower from Woodlawn would get a lineup into and out of the station. Next gap station at 125 and Lexington we would be 5-6 minutes late. I would blame the ATS for the lateness and the Lexington train dispatchers finally figured it out. The RCC dispatcher handling my section of the Bronx would have me give him radio checks enroute down to the Concourse. He was formerly the ATD at Dyre and Bowling Green. He and the tower operator saw that when the ATS was turned off up there we were always on time but when the system was activated we were always late. The sad part was that I always had two motor instructors  riding with me on their way home who vouched for me and my Conductor yet the powers that be tried to defend the ATS system every chance they could. They actually tried to ignore my defenders who watched the issues daily. I heard that they actually had to pad the running time for that particular interval after my Conductor and I picked another job . It amazes me that so many people are blinded by the technology that they ignore what’s going on in front of them. My opinion. Carry on.

Lol, we know the (4)is the king of Lexington Ave.  Wait your turn, sir

It wasn't fun while it lasted....

    Lol....

I hear the northbound (E)s  all the time @ 50-8 asking for proper ID before proceeding...:lol::lol:

BTW, good for you.  You definitely earned it...

I think it's Alden Terrace, but yet the X64 soon to be QM64 will end at Elmont and Dutch Broadway

Thats it.  Thanks bro.  Yeah, I see that the (X64) going to end by the strip mall with the bowling alley...

    A couple more minor comments:

(Q8):  Rerouted to New Lots Ave (3)(4) station.  I'm feeling this move.  However, space under the el is going to be tight with the (Q8)(B6LTD), and the proposed (B103LTD) all terminating there...

(Q27): Why change the terminal in Cambria Heights??  If anything, extend the proposed Q51 to the current (Q27) terminal....  Also was confused by the flip flop with the (Q26) in the previous draft...

(Q44SBS): I'm with the masses here about the Fordham extension, definitely not needed.  The current Bronx section alone can be its own route...

  6. I'll comment on the routes I'm familiar with...

(Q3): Will continue to put that work in at JFK

(Q4): Nimbys in Elmont?  I forgot the name of that immediate subsection over there ....

(Q5): One of the short turns becomes permanent. None of that (Q25)mess.  I like that they kept the extension in Rosedale (Q86)

(Q7): Cool, buy maybe an extension to Cypress Hill to maintain the connection to the (B13)...

    (Q10): Strictly Lefferts vibes

(Q24): Throwback to the B22 days

(Q77): Finally an extension to 147th and beyond.  Maybe coming out of JFK Depot?

(Q83): No more overnight service to Queens Village LIRR

(Q85): Full time to Green Acres?  I guess NYPD wants all that space on Sunrise Hwy(Rosedale LIRR). I think that Caldor at Green Acres is mentioned as a stop being removed 😂...

    (Q110): Floral Park?  Hmmm....

(Q111): According to the maps, it's still goes to Nassau County...

(Q112): Getting kicked out for the Q51, which I'm glad that there will be some type of xtown service in that part of the borough(Linden Blvd).

(Q113LTD)/(Q114LTD): Might be petty here, but let the 113 be the main Far Rockaway service and the 114 be the main Guy R Brewer service.  No need for 115 nomenclature...

When will they do their 30-day test? They said Late 2023, It's December. Definitely part of Late 2023. And we only got one day left with the gearbox tests ig.

It was supposed to start last month, but obviously that didn't happen.....

As far as the reasoning, I don't know...

AFAIC, the current B57 from end to end is a massive waste of resources; the SB B57 is more or less an afterthought past Downtown Brooklyn; you don't see any real collective of riders specifically waiting for B57's in Downtown seeking SB service.... On top of it, it's usually stragglers left on the bus after it serves Downtown Brooklyn.... The masses in Downtown that are seeking service towards Cobble Hill, etc. essentially all gun for the B61.... So I'm most definitely not defending the current B57, if that's what you're trying to get at...

I would only run the thing between Downtown Brooklyn & Flushing/Metropolitan av., at current headways.... I've always thought that the fact that service runs separately on uni-directional streets (Smith/Court) was a huge deterrent to Cobble Hill & Carroll Gardens patrons on the old B75 & the current B57..... Usage was never great on the B75 on that stretch (either direction) either.....

It's definitively a stub, no doubt about it... The patrons of the area will tell you that.

Aside from that, while I'm not all too high on the proposed B57, what I will say (if I haven't elsewhere on here already) is that the proposed B57 is a better use of resources than the current B57.....

What do you think of the proposed B27?  I think it's the modern version of the B75 that goes west towards Red Hook...(B77)

I am going to share something.

I don’t want you all to start making random guess. I don’t want you all to start running around like proverbial chickens without heads. You are not to speculate about what I am about to say other than what I am specifically telling you.

    so, that being said:

there are no R211s currently in service.

Correct, there was one set (original pilot set) that ran yesterday.   The other 5-6 sets are temporarily sidelined....

The original set did have that issue resolved,  hence being out on the road.  As you and others have mentioned,  there was a slight car shortage on the (A)/(C) lines yesterday.

Didn't help that a couple of trains went out of service around the same time...<_<

Again, Giving Jamaica 8 car R160's would create a bigger headache and would cost more money in the long term due to the fact it's a restricted fleet for one line. The yard barely have space as it is, Now you adding 8 car units to the mix. having it 10 cars would allow them to share cars with the (E) (F) and (R) like it does now with it being 5 cars.

This would reduce spare factor and require less cars, If Jamaica gets R211s, this would make it even better when it comes to spare factor.

If the (G) returned to Coney Island, That's a different story. They can handle an extra fleet since the yard is bigger and could store more trains.

Wouldn't have to be a service reduction, it could run the same as now.

Back on topic, I think the R211T's should enter passenger service within the next 2 weeks.

The 211T  will be testing in passenger service soon.....

I think the B60 should take over the East 80th Street branch since ridership east of Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway happens to be pretty low, although the Paerdegat branch most likely would have low ridership as well. It depends on how many people from the Paerdegat Branch ride the(B17) north of Rockaway Parkway Station

In the redesign, the 17's E 80 St branch becomes a proposed B76. It will start at Broadway Junction though.

This.  So its kinda like the (B60) will be taking over the E.80th Branch...

Speaking of the redesign, I thought the (B17)would have taken over the (B15) northern portion.  Of course with a slight diversion to serve the Utica Ave (3)/(4) station....

I believe Q78 usage from Green Arces would be alright because it would give Springfield Blvd and the immediate areas direct service to the mall. I don’t see ridership from the mall being higher than the Q5, and Q85 but the route will definitely take a few people off those routes and attract a few of its own.

In my opinion I think the mall is a better place to terminate the Q78 rather than on Farmers Blvd in front of JFK depot but I could see the MTA’s planned route routing being beneficial to airport workers primarily.
What I like about their existing plan is that the Q78 offers more transfers and fixes the issue of the Q27 and Q77 not doing enough for riders.

Just something I realized but the MTA pretty much got away with cutting the Q77 to South Conduit & Springfield. It does not serve the stop on Springfield & 145rd in front of the school like it says on its map. Instead its first stop is with the Q85 in Springfield & North Conduit. It’s not a huge cut and I don’t think too many people care.

As was previously mentioned, the Q78 southern terminus will help bring in employees to the local business in the area.  Itll bring in both employees and workers to the DMV....

Also the Q78 is proposed to serve the "discontinued southern terminus" on the Q77 ....

    Some (B47) shenanigans:

Heading south on Remsen onto Ralph, I observed 5 N/B (B47) buses between Lenox/Remsen and Snyder/Ralph.  Heading back north on Ralph, there were 4 S/B (B47) and NIS buses....

This was all taking place on Saturday evening....

Well the weekend shenanigans on the (B47)continues.  This time a little better, as there was only 3 N/B (B47) buses between Clarendon and Snyder....

Also spotted 3500 at Gateway Center Mall in Brooklyn...
