  1. The LIRR Babylon schedules do not list St. Albans, even though many Babylon branch trains serve that station all day seven days a week. What in tarnation!?

It really is ridiculous. St. Albans sees 57 trains during the week with 4 coming from West Hempstead and 53 going to or from the Babylon Branch. WH trains only account for 7% of the traffic at St. Albans while Babylon accounts for 93%. Might as well at least show the station on the Babylon timetables, like Lynbrook.

  2. Is anybody else excited for the MTA to release their annual ridership stats? I'm always curious to see how my home subway stop & home bus route do every year.

  3. I'm trying to reply to threads, but I'm literally lost in the sea of stupidity I don't know if it's even worth it.

I can kinda agree with this. I feel like a lot of threads turn bad for a couple of reasons: One, someone will often derail the thread will something only tangentially related to the OP, taking the thread way off-topic. Two, people will comment all over the place, even in topics they know nothing about, just to get their word in or seem smart or something. Like, they'll find something, anything to comment on, even if it's not related to the subject matter at all.

  4. I know I said before I was almost done with the weekday part of my M101 SBS schedule, but now I legit am almost done [i've been busy!] It's pretty terribad, 31 buses being used during the day but by 11 PM I have only 18 or so buses back in the depot. Maybe I'll work backwards now.

My goof leaves about 13 buses just randomly floating around, which needless to say isn't good.

  5. The annoying moment when you make a mistake on your posts and it's too late to edit them.

There has been a suprising lack of LFSA on the B44 pictures. Gaiz pls.

  6. When you think you have a good idea and you feel good because others seems to support it/have similar ideas, how do you know it's not just a healthy dose of confirmation bias? I started thinking about this when I saw that some people had similar ideas to mine for the 125th St routes.

To give some context, the people I'm talking about I never talked to. My table had finish discussing so I was getting ready to leave the workshop, and the other table had some ideas written on a table. It was something like "M101 makes Limited stops on 125/Amsterdam, make an M101 local, send the M102 to City Hall and cut the M103, something about the M60 and adding service to the Q19, something about the Bx15 and Bx55. I don't know if they were talking about changing around limite...

  7. Regarding your plan to make the parking lane into a bus lane during rush hours; Has an angry mob showed up at your house with torches and pitchforks yet?

Oh wow, I didn't get another notification for this so I didn't see it.

Well, Lex Av currently has a curbside bus lane from 60th St down to to 37th St and 3rd Av has one from 36th St to 58th St. Lexington Av's bus lane is mostly ineffectual in helping traffic along. Lexington Av is kinda narrow, and I think taking the OTHER curbside lane that's currently a parking lane, and transforming it into another driving lane benefits more people than those whose park. I reall...

  9. Was working on Gorgor's schedule maker and then all the times for one part were pushed back by a whole hour. Unfortunate, but it the fact that it happened around the end of daylight savings time is pretty amusing.

But don't be dissuaded from using it because of any random occurrences, it's a great product.

  10. All my friends wished that school will be closed for 3 days because of the hurricane.

For a closure of 3 days things would have to be pretty bad, no? I can't see school staying closed past tomorrow.

  11. Only a year until B44 SBS. Of course, this is the 4th time one has had the chance to say that, so maybe it's not too late for scrapped/altered plans.

    1. Mysterious2train

      Mysterious2train

Scratch that. Probably too far along for the MTA to axe it, but maybe make it more beneficial. I really wish more B44 riders knew/cared about this...

  12. Trying to think of alternatives to the MTA's B44 SBS plan. Someone's gonna lose out, so at least we should try and serve a nice range of patrons. Can you believe the MTA wanted to run 3 minute Rush Hour service with ARTICS? If they want to run THAT much service (probably not anymore), why not use it creatively?

    1. Mysterious2train

      Mysterious2train

Could work, but if the MTA really wants to provide a bucketload of service I won't really complain. They could split NB buses between Rogers and New York.

It's not that bad to the point I get no sleep at all, just not enough. Or in a timely fashion. I wake up early for school, so I really wanna get used to that again.
