  1. My damn enclosure is in Melville. What, did it miss that last truck? I have data I haven't accessed in almost a year on that thing. The next step is still the 1TB external drive. I need that much space, yes.
  2. I really hope that HDD enclosure arrives tomorrow.
  3. That doesn't even look like the interior of a NYC subway car. Fail movie is fail.
  4. At least when comics were in vogue, people could read. They had storylines that were in-depth and kept you hooked. Apparently, Marvel doesn't know when to end because in the end they have to resolve all these plotholes, make new characters and retcon everything, or kill off about 40% of their characters. The last original concept I heard of that worked was Mirror's Edge, which didn't do too well because of Call of Duty 4 (which was great itself, but brought along with it the Michael Bay-style explosion ridden shooters we are burdened with today), and because people think free runners and parkour are stupid.
  5. Why is it that most "top-selling" games and movies are all sequels or remakes or are all the same stuff? See Call of Duty: Black Ops. Rip off The Deer Hunter, make up complete shit for the story, and make every gun either too big, too small, or resemble some metal with sticks of crap sticking out. Or the superhero movies. Stop already...
  6. That's just disgusting, dude. You'd better watch your boca, or even keep it shut.
  7. Even if the converted more abandoned/freight LIRR tracks for subway use, the distances between stops would mean they'd either have to be stricter with signaling or allow trains to go faster. See the Rockaway Line...
  8. There's a bus stop dating from even before the formation of MSBA on the N4 stop at Montague Street in Valley Stream. Haven't been down there to see it myself since last summer, but I doubt the county can be bothered to tear it down.
  9. So I was riding the N4 to Lynbrook after I dropped my bike off at the shop... as usual, the N4 to Freeport was late and two were bunched up, an Orion V and one NG... I got on the V, #1678, and it was leaning to the left so I had to literally jump to get on the bus. When I got on, a woman was talking with an NYCT employee that was onboard, but I couldn't hear them. When I got to Lynbrook, the N25 going to Lynbrook was fine, but when that bus operator started her run back up to Great Neck, she got held up behind a line of an N31 and 32. The 31 ran by the three that were waiting for them because of the 32, and the 32 picked those people up. The N25, meanwhile, left Lynbrook on time but was stuck at the light by Merrick Road! That light by Peninsula and Hempstead Avenue has completely messed the traffic pattern up and holds traffic of all kinds up from Merrick. When the N25 came by, it was stuck at the light for at least three minutes... but the bus operator bought this huge drink from the White Castle right by the LIRR station and was pouring stuff into it while we waited at the lights.
  10. Wow, are the Alcoas on the Orion Vs here and the Bee-Line Orions in the city ass ugly. I like the rims they have on the MCIs and the RTS, though. Anything after (such as the C40LFs)... what are they thinking?
  11. I want to beat whoever came up with the rail template on Wikipedia with a ****ing wrench.
  12. I can't believe those Cummins Orion Vs are gone, though. To think only three years ago they comprised a quarter of LIB's fleet.
  13. The Orion Vs are worse, especially the Cummins-powered ones.
  14. I do have to commend NASCAR drivers. Being able to entertain people by being sponsored by beer companies and driving in circles for four hours.. that's something. Those cars do still have stock manual transmissions and those G-Forces are something, though. Twenty-five years ago, we had IMSA and IndyCar. Those were the days.
  15. The did right with putting those ISL Gs in the NG CNGs. I can only hope the New Flyers and C40s have the same powertrain. Those things have some strength...
  16. I finally rode a bus in Manhattan this afternoon - M4 from 5th and 49th (or the nearest stop) to 5th and 34th. The O7 OG (do not want and never will)'s farebox kept giving me read errors until the third dip. As it went further into Midtown, a man wanting to get on a couple stops away from Penn Station got on and the bus operator said in a gruff voice, "This is New York, man, look at all the girls.. why didn't you just walk?"
  17. I remember being sick in middle school and just having the chicken flavor Ramen made with some egg whites my mom added... it was the best meal while sick ever.
  18. See, it's cool and all when you make that instant Ramen, but not when you have to let it cool down for 15 minutes and you are hungry..
  19. So I was waiting for the N25 today and a bus came up sooner than I thought. When the light turned green I raised my hand but the bus operator never even slowed down. I saw the destination sign and it read "N2" instead of N25. I somewhat trolled myself.
  20. I don't know what the interiors of the city Orion V CNGs are like, but LI's Orion Vs have baby blue interiors with matching blue seats.. but the little partition by the door is normally white, while the operator's little area is black. A few buses have a black partition rather than a white one and it looks pretty damn cool.
  21. I thought the duck in the FP logo was a giant leaf when I was new to the bus system. My face when I found out it was a duck (and why KR kept calling the user "ducky"):
  22. I love how all these "family" stations are usually religious... makes me sick. What's wrong with this R32?
