if it wasn't for lousy competition we could have had a much better subway system

  the reason I like the MBTA Subway is that it has all those features, the stations are better designed, the routes dont have the bunched up stops that the NYC subway gets, and it has fleet variety, each line has its own fleet.

  Toronto's good too. The subway is straight-forward, clear designations of which station is which, and the variety is still good (trains are between 35 years and 1 month). Unfortunately, variety will be over soon. The H5s and H6s are being retired and the last 'traditional' looking cars will be the T1s.
