  1. Nothing gets stored on 8th Ave/CPW during Plan 4. The (A) & (C) uses the Fulton St express tracks, the extra tracks around Dyckman and Euclid, and Pitkin Yard (which is covered).

The (C) only gets suspended during Plan 5, but during Plan 4, the (A) will run express in Manhattan.

When does plan 5 take place in the winter?

  2. A Manhattan bound (3) derail in the Clark street tunnel. The uptown tube is closed. (2) and (3) trains service in Brooklyn is suspend indefenitly until the recharge of the derailed (3) is removed from the tunnel.

As an alternitive to and from Manhattan take the (S) from Clark street-14th street.

I checked the MTA webstie and said nothing about the derail and mentioned only good service in the (1)  (2)  (3). Where are you getting this information from or you are just making it up for fun?

  3. The J and the C are both 8 car trains. The total car requirements are exactly the same whether the C is 100% R32, 100% R160, or anything in between.

In other words, I don't know if the R42's are going to stick around until the R179's or if they're going to be retired sooner, but it certainly doesn't depend on whether the C is running R160's.

The flooding was worse and took longer to pump out than anywhere else. The longer salt water is in contact with electrical components, the more damage it does.

Any particular reason you're restricting that to one line and to one car class? It's pretty dreadful being in a hot car, on any line and of any car class.

I can't speak to this one in particular, but most of the recent timers have been installed to bring the signals into compliance with safety standards - that is, without the timer, there's a risk that a train that passes a red signal at max speed will hit the train ahead (or will come too close to comfort - I don't know what the safety margin is).

I got an email alert on September 10 at 3:35 PM about the service change starting the following day. If you're not signed up for email alerts, perhaps you should sign up.

    J, M, and H often encounter similar GO's.

To allow work to take place closer to Court Street than can take place when trains are terminating there, and to reduce costs and crew requirements.

Can trains still terminate on Whitehall St on weekends when the tunnel is closed? Just in case when the South Side of the birdge need emergency repairs.

  4. During this period:

    (N) runs in two sections:

Coney Island-Court Street (R) station (Court and Jay Street-Metrotech are open during this time)

Canal Street (Tunnel level)-Ditmars Boulevard, Queens (lower Manhattan stations scheduled to be closed weekends remain such)

    (Q) runs via 6th Avenue express to 57th Street (F) station

    (R) runs via the (B) DeKalb Avenue-West 4th, then via the (M) West 4th to 71st-Continental.

Excellent idea Wallyhorse!! Not too unrealistic or stupid.

  5. One Weekend, the Manhattan bridge south tracks have a major signal problem that will last for the entire weekend. No trains can travel thorugh the Manhattan bridge south tracks for that weekend. The Montague Tubes is closed during the repairs. Reroute the (N)  (Q)  (R) .
