  1. It's pointless because the (A)(C) travel time is roughly the same between Hoyt st and 59 st. (A) only skips Spring st, 23 st, and 50 st but there are local express stops between these stations like West 4 st, 14 st, 34 st,42 st. The (A) would only save you 1 minute when it leaves 59st the (C) would arrive the station.

  2. That's cool. I'm always pleasantly surprised with the s/b 4 Av Express from Atlantic Av to 36 St. No one says it's very fast, but my R68 (D) train yesterday was really hauling! The timers coming into 36 St are annoying. Are they to keep people from overrunning 36 St at 40+ MPH and derailing on the switch for the West End line?. Or to protect the crossover switch to the local track? Still, the timers don't start until you pass 25 St, and those early timers aren't too slow. It's a good run, IMO.

Still, nothing compares to the n/b 50 MPH express :).

I agree with you too. The timers on the 4th av express are really annoying. The only part on the 4th av line with no timers is the southbound express from 36st to 59st. The (N) trains entering 59st southbound hit 40mph entering the station.

    NEXT:

No trains can use BMT east river crossings (Montague St tunnel, Manhattan Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge, 14 St tunnel, 60 St tunnel).

(B)(D) runs between 34st and the Bronx.

    (D) in Brooklyn runs between Altantic Av and Coney Island.

    (N) no service between Court st and Queensboro Plaza.

    (Q) runs between Prospect Park and Coney Island.

    (R) runs between Forest Hills and Whitehall st via 63st.

    (R) shuttle runs every 20 min between 59st snd 95st.

    (J) no service between Broad st and Marcy Av.

    (J)(Z) skip stop suspended.

    (M) shuttle.

    (L) no service between 8th av and Bedford Av.

    NEXT

Because of a washout at 23 St & Lex, the (4)(5)(6) cannot pass 23 St. As this is a long-term change, provide extra alternate service where possible.

    (4) runs between Woodlawn and Grand Central via lex exp lates nights local.

    (5) runs betwween dyre av and East 180 st

    (6) local runs berween Grand Central and Parchester weekdays during the day and Pehalm Bay Park other times. <6> runs between Pehalm Bay park and 3th av weekdays during the day.

    (B) suspended in order to put more trains on the (N)(Q) for extra service.

    (3) runs to New Lots av at all times with extra trains.

    (2) increased service.

    (D) rush hour peak direction in the bronx is suspended.

    (Q) some trains run express on the brightion.

    (S) runs all night on 42st.

  5. Very simple as I would run service during this situation like how they run service during the 6th av Fastrack.

    (D) spilt into 2 sections 1,205st and Second Av (F) via 8th av local from 145st to west 4 st. 2, Whitehall st (R) and Coney Island vis 4thav local.

    (F) rerouted via the (E) from west 4 st to Rossevelt Av.

    (B) ends early.

(A)(C) run express from 145st to Canalst

    (Q) extended to 21 st.

Cuostmers who need 6th av service should use 8th av line stations for rerouted service.

  6. By looking at this TwitterPic on the 2013 FASTRACK corridor, I've decided to give out my opinions on 5 FASTRACK projects and hopefully we might have an understanding about this for quite a while.

    1. (N)(Q)(R) corridor - I'm glad that the MTA have decided to do this line between Queensboro Plaza or Queens Plaza, Queens and Atlantic Av-Barclays Center, Brooklyn, and I hope they read my comment on

this corridor I made a short time ago. There might be some tunnel lighting improvements, track cleaning, signal restructuring, and track switch installation north of 14th St-Union Square.

    2. (A) corridor - On this uptown Manhattan corridor, I'm positive that the (C) Train service might end early (last train to Euclid Av leaves 168th St at 9:32 PM and last train to 168th St leaves Euclid Av at 8:54 PM). Also, the last two downtown (A) trains might leave Inwood-207th St at 9:44 PM (Far Rockaway-bound), and 9:56 PM (Ozone Park-bound), which means the final three uptown trains would make their arrival on Inwood-207th St at 9:35 PM (from Ozone Park), 9:46 PM (from Far Rockaway), and 9:56 PM (from Ozone Park). Trains will also start running local between 168th St, Manhattan and Euclid Av, Brooklyn in both directions at 9:00 PM (from Euclid Av) and 9:41 PM (from 168th St).

    3. (D) corridor - FASTRACK in The Bronx, what are the odds on that? For this one, the (B) line will end early (last train to Brighton Beach leaves 145th St at 9:56 PM and last train to 145th St leaves Brighton Beach at 8:49 PM). (D) Trains are likely to end at 145th St instead of 161st St-Yankee Stadium, maybe because of platform renovations, track cleaning, reinstalling track switches south of Fordham Road, and hopefully part of the never-been-planned (D) Line extension along Burke Av.

    4. (E)(F)(M)(R) corridor - Either the (E) and (F) run local, or the (M) and (R) run express. Only time will tell.

    5. (4)(5)(6) corridor - They're both the same, but the planning might be different than this year. (4) Trains will run in 2 sections: 1. Between Woodlawn and 125th St. 2. Between Grand Central-42nd St and New Lots Av (trains start running local). (5) Train service will end early (last train to Bowling Green leaves Eastchester-Dyre Av at 9:08 PM and last train to Eastchester-Dyre Av leaves Bowling Green at 9:35 PM). (6) Trains will also run in 2 sections: 1. Between Pelham Bay Park and 125th St. 2. Between Grand Central-42nd St and Crown Heights-Utica Av.

1, 168st can handle the both services.

2, You are seriously suggesting to turn the D at 145st. Concourse riders will be mad and have a lot of minutes added to the commute. Making the D run to 161st provides the connection to the 4 for uptown service. B sevice runs normal since it dosen't go past 145st.

3, For the Queen blvd line the Fshould run local and the E should run express to Rossevelt Av. F should go to 21st and the E should go to Court Square. M and R shutlle service takes place too.

4, The Lexingtion Av between 45st and 100st is bi leveled with local on upper and express on lower. If they want to shut down the upper level trains will run on the lower level. Workers can work non stop in the upper level because no train interruptions. This also the same way when the lower level is out trains run on the upper level. One level can handle all lexingtion av service. .

  7. Not really. N can operate in two sections - Ditmars to Lexington/59th (or Queensboro Plaza) and Whitehall to Stillwell. Q can be cut back to Atlantic.

    (Q) to Alantic Av needs to run at 30 min intervals and between 10pm and 12am there is still a good amount of riders and bightion riders would be pissed if trains run every 30 min

  8. B The last southbound trains would go to Kings Highway F and north bound trains would not run.

D southbound trains run via N and northbound regular route.

    N normal

Q reouted via the N in both directions

R normal and trains deadheading to Coney Island yard run via N to 86 st and enter the yard from there.

  9. I knew someone would have to give it a try... other than the small amount of shuttle buses for Grand St (because there is no other subway nearby with a clean line of walking distance), the rest of the service around the FASTRACK remained mostly unchanged. They ran the (S) overnite for Lex and I think 7Av too, and replaced the (2) with (5). Drastic changes weren't really made. Making a service that doesnt run at night run overnight is drastic (the shuttle is two stops and is done whenever the (7) doesn't enter Manhattan, that doesn't count). Also, the ® has layup trains between 36-59 on the express track, that's why just before bypass service ends a few (N)'s go local from 36th southbound. Therefore...

(N)(Q) to Whitehall St (with 12 min headways each, Whitehall can turn both services).

    (N) to Lex-59 (important to provide connection here so not to overload the (7)).

® 71-Ctl to 95, via (F)(D) from 36st (Queens) to Dekalb. Whitehall trips to 2Av instead (which allows the (E) to remain unchanged).

Its important to maintain both Steinway and 60st tubes, this is not the weekend now... also while it is annoying, the (6) can handle any extra crowding by itself, doesn't need the (4) local too. The train at Brooklyn Bridge generally leaves empty unless a connection is made.

Would the (cool.png be useful overnight if the MTA wants to shut down both tunnel and bridge service in both directions during the fastrack on the Broadway Line

  10. How would fast track on the Broadway line work? Where would the (N) and (Q) go? Obviously the ® ends early

This is how the fastrack on the Broadway line Work.

    (N) runs in 2 sections Astoria Ditmas Blvd to Queensboro Plaza or 34 st depending where the work will be and Pacific st and Coney Island via 4th av express.

    (Q) is suspended and is replaced by the (cool.png in Brooklyn.

® is supended and replaced by free shuttle buses. Shuttle buses run between 36st and 95st making all ® stops.

(cool.png runs overnight. Regular route between 145st and Prospect Park then make all (Q) stops to Coney Island.

    (D) runs local between Dekalb Av And 36st.

    (4) runs local in Manhattan.

  11. I just notice something. I think that second 7th Ave fast track was misprinted. Here we are notice that Lex Ave was first, then 7th Ave then 6th Ave then 8th ave. But i notice when is Broadway Fast track? That my theory and opinion.

The Broadway line will not receive fastrack but it may or may not happen later.
