1. Just watched Thomas & Friends..wanted to mention that.
2. @realizm I think the 4th ave fastrack is only south of 36 st so I believe the won't be affected. This would happen only for the N and R.
3. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="realizm" data-cid="640182" data-time="1359773604">
Probably they will start bus shuttles to compensate for the and the . Maybe a NX style thru service through Coney Island (that is if those old switches are still there, I'm going off the top of my head didnt look at the current track maps.... or/with reroutes over the brighton? Not sure. Just throwing out there the possibilities.

What do you mean? You mean the suspended fastrack??
4. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Around the Horn" data-cid="640144" data-time="1359771280">
how will the 4th avenue fastrack work?

I don't know about the but most likely N trains would run via the on both directions. It's only south of 36 St.
5. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="YoungNYCSubwayFan" data-cid="639967" data-time="1359749428">
So I was looking at my track book and understand how the agency is turning these trains around at the 57th Street/7th Avenue station.
How are they turning these trains around at DeKalb Avenue in Brooklyn? How come they could not send these trains to Whitehall Street in Manhattan?

Unless they are dumping at Dekalb and switching at Jay or Court St. Probably the power is shut off including Whitehall St. I'm just speculating though.
6. At first I thought why couldn't they run the local (stopping at 23rd and 14th streets) but I realized that would delay and trains and of course the wheel detectors north of West 4 St. So my guess is that the going south arrives on the express track on 47-50 Streets and does the route until it arrives at DeKalb Ave.
7. You mean and trains right? There is no way possible an train would go via the crosstown line.
8. Finally caught the R62A on the today. Also met some dude who boarded at Brooklyn Bridge and we spent part of the ride staring at the RFW and talking transit, wonder if he's a member here on the forums. Also spoke to the T/O who told me that he hasn't operated an R62A since they were on the , must be a long time ago then.
9. Just learned that there is a 57/6 program for the Q, but there is a glitch on it. Why does it say Queens bound train if the train is not going to Queens? The also has a 57/6 program whenever it is extended on the weekends and it announces "This is a 57 Street, Sixth Avenue bound M Train". Not that it matters since the C/R time and time will make announcements. Also, if there is no program to Stillwell via 6th Avenue from 57/6, why the C/R don't sync the 21 St-Queensbridge to Coney Island program and skip out the Queens stops? I only saw one set that had the "via 6 Av" to Coney. I guess most of them don't know the code, they used the regular 57/7 to Coney and made manual announcements. Didn't know the R160s had a to Court St. Pretty cool.
10. Sure wish I can get home, I hate cold weather.
11. So during the Concourse FASTRACK there were extra service? This week saw a few of them terminate at 149-Concourse. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Grand Concourse" data-cid="633151" data-time="1358320847">
Just saw a movie called 'Safe' and I just love how the scenes interchange from an R62A to an R68. The scene starts off at 'Dekalb' which looks like the Canal station. The R62A had rollsigns for a 6th av line (I think the ) and the only time you see the R68 is when the character is climbing on the roof of the car going over the Manhattan bridge. Fight scenes took place mainly in the R62a and finally the scene ends at Canal and the street shows East Broadway on the .

Also you can tell the number of the R62A kept changing from 2xxx to 19xx.

Ah, Hollywood...

I saw that movie, I thought it was a fake that was there. The car was obviously an R62A and that station looked like an IRT station. DeKalb Avenue please...
12. The " shuttle" is actually running as a from 241-180. I actually noticed that there is a Dyre-Flatbush program for the but there is a glitch when it runs on the Dyre Avenue Line. Instead of announcing the next stop, it made the doors closing chime. "This is a Manhattan bound train, the next stop is *doors closing chime* Stand clear of the closing doors please. It only happened at the stops then it went back to normal once it arrived at E 180 St.
13. That is too much for the Fox to handle!!!! 179-Stillwell is a long route!!! Smh The West End line and Sea Beach line aren't too far away. What purpose does it serve sending a shuttle to the Sea Beach stations? Not gonna work, sorry.
14. Currently playing Super Smash Bros Melee on the Nintendo Gamecube, while listening to the Starfox 64 theme as well. Probably the better game out of all 3 series released.
15. With the Brooklyn BMT Fastrack coming in May, I wonder if trains are going to terminate at 9th Avenue or they will be suspended early...(of course I mean the trains coming from Manhattan)
16. I think they discharge passengers and run off NIS. The replaces them I don't know if that's how it's done.
17. On MLK day I think trains and buses run on a Saturday schedule. I believe that's only on Columbus Day that the MTA allows it to run on a weekday schedule.
18. At least the goes to 161 St, I was afraid it could have been just 145 St.
19. Ohh ok. Thanks. I haven't been in that station in years.
20. Why isn't the stopping at Pelham Pkwy if the station has 2 island platforms?
21. It was probably a glitch or something, because there was one time I rode it there and there were no other announcements at 121 St.
22. Wonder why the R160s at 121 St they don't mention the connection to the Q10 to JFK, I mean Lefferts Blvd is only two blocks away from the station.
23. Ohh, that's new to me. I thought it was the and switching northern terminals again. Now that is rare.
24. When will BusTime arrive in Brooklyn? I've only seen them here in the Bronx.
25. I guess people forgot that the last time the went to Dyre, the southern destination was South Ferry. Since there is no 2 program from Dyre to South Ferry, at E 180 St, 2 trains had CHAMBERS ST on the side signs and not FLATBUSH AV. I guess Snowblock is somewhat happy he might save his breath from announcing stops from Dyre to E 180th. Just let the computer do it.
