After reading posts about some folks catching codebreaks, the only codebreak I've seen in recent times was an Orion VII OG CNG from WF signed up as a Q48 here in the BX... That was almost a year ago... I guess I'm not that lucky catching codebreaks like some of you guys lol...

And damn, I don't want to start anyone's day off bad but just this week I was about to go off on this ignorant fool making fallacious assumptions of Asians in one of my History classes. While disscussing the internment of west coast Japanese in the mid 1940's he said some stupid shit on how the Chinese and Japanese were similar and some other bullshit on eyes and other appearances.

 

The whole while there I was at the back of the class making satirical remarks on his ignorance, just ready to go off on him. I was actually asked by the teacher as to why I felt it so serious as I did.

 

I mentioned that many students in her class were Hispanic and/or Latino, but each have their own individual cultural background as a result of belong and affliating themselves to different countries. I then said that a good majority of people would just label us as "Mexican", which while that would be true for myself and a few others, for some that wouldn't be true for all.

 

I went on to say why does it even matter and that the whole conversation started because of discrimination based on race, and that we shouldn't be viewing people as different because of their race, but rather us as a united human race each belonging to individual cultural backgrounds.

 

I'm damn proud to say that I had nearly the entire room appluding and the douchebag that made the original remarks bowing his head in shame.

I'm not one of these people that camp out on the streets to get something either.... I smh everytime I pass by people I come across doing that..... I can honestly say that growing up, I was never one of these kids that had to be the first to get something..... It's not in my nature to brag (even though I was spoiled), be envious of anyone, or feel anymore validated (as opposed to a cornball if you were "late" on coppin something) because I got something before someone else.... I got hit with those shaming tactics (especially when it came to sneakers), but I never let it get to me..... Never owned a pair of Jordans & never will.

I don't either... (On the beats headphones...) I will say this about headphones: I hate earplugs/earbuds with a passion... If I use them, they make my ear hurt quickly... I love the "Old style-normal" headphones... (Lack of a better term) I listen to my Ipod with them... Funny thing is I've never seen anyone use the old style headphones with Ipods besides me lol...

I never understood the need to wait/camp on line for days... Never did that and probably never will...

I too never owned a pair of Jordans... I really don't care for all of these brand name materials... As long as they are clean, fit me, are comfortable to wear and I like them, I will wear just about anything for men...

On a related note, I haven't been asked for money in a while. And the last three times it was the same guy high on dope or some shit. f**k him. He lives in the hood near my school living in his moms house all the while collecting workers comp and other benefits. I recall he was nearly arrested for cat-calling.

 

And damn, it pisses me off when people ask for money or food while outside or inside a restaurant. It mainly happened to me at this one chicken place numerous times, so I stopped going. Not worth the bullshit. I recall giving this old ass crack head a bag full of change to shut him up because he wouldn't leave me alone. Another time at the bus stop outside the place, I pushed this drunk guy's shopping cart full of can and bottles in the street because he was grabbing at my bag of food. Hope he liked picking his stuff of the street.

 

Seriously though, I'm a reasonable person and will give money when I see fit (a woman trying to get her kids some food perhaps) or I'll go as far as buying someone food and maybe have a chat with them. What I despise though are the pushy people.

 

And onn that note, my bus pulled up, time to go home.

I never give money to folks panhandling... Food it depends on the person (If they look frail/hungry) and how they ask... But money, I don't give money...

For whatever reason, the kids at my school don't seem to brag about the newest sneakers/phones/whatever. Of course, some people buy whatever the newest craze is, but they don't go bragging about it. Either that, or I'm just not paying attention. Well, in that case, ignorance is bliss.....

The way that the system is set up, if a bus detours and takes a similar route to one taken by another route or even the same route it will screw up Bus Time totally.  That may be why they were so strict with buses staying on the route at first.  For example, I've been on Southbound BxM2s that have taken short cuts via 5th to Central Park South and then have taken Central Park South to 7th to comedown to 34th & 7th, thus bypassing 81st & Central Park West, 72nd & Columbus and 63rd & Broadway since no one wanted those stops and then coming down 7th like it usually does, but for that little time that it comes down Central Park South and over to 7th, it takes the same routing as a Northbound BxM2, so it shows up as a Riverdale bound BxM2 when it really isn't.  Was funny to see on Bus Time though.

Apparently 277 has moved a few blocks up... I'll keep my eye on it on bus time...

I wouldn't be too sure about that... Seems like a few depots are short on buses... I have yet to see Bus Time screw up on a bus #.... Then again I've been getting the same bus practically every day on one line... 

I just checked up on Bus Time again... That bus hasn't moved at all... It's probably just parked there for whatever reason... C40 277 belongs to WF... Might be that same glitch some LFSA's out of 126 that show up as a Bx15 but it's parked at the depot...

That (960) was a demo bus from Renault the MTA was trying out... They also had another Renault demo... That was number 961...  Another demo bus they tried was a Hino bus (A Japanese Manufacturer)... Number 951...

I  can't stand Bleach.  Orihime and just about every female on the show having a huge rack is a plus, but not when I'm hearing more Spanish than English/Japanese with all this "Hueco Mundo" and "Soul Society" crap and I'm seeing dinosaur-horse-bird things speaking in female voices... I just channel surf.  It just drags on for far too long.... DBZ only held my attention as a kid and Naruto just broke down into a 12 year old riding his emo friend's nuts after a while.

What I was getting at with that part of the retort was, it wasn't doing all that well under the old service levels as it is now w/ the current service levels.....

 

In other words, yes, the route turned that slight profit afterwards - because they cut runs (incl. gettin rid of the lwr. manhattan trips outright), jacked up the fare, and had to rely on those same/similar levels of pax. remaining faithful to the route for that to happen (which luckily/gratefully for bee line, most seem to have did)....

 

...and yeh, it's still the C4! (I) still don't see the route lasting too long.....

 

- I would address the erratic service on the 40/42 first before I'd increase service; E. tremont av isn't exactly underserved.....

 

- Secondly, if your 40 Ltd's would serve the Throgs Neck houses, I could agree w/ your suggestion there.....

As for the Bx40/Bx42, Yes, I agree service needs to be more frequent before and service increase... I remember my HS days on having to wait long to get one of those buses... From what I've seen, it's still like that...

I do agree about converting the Bx40 into a limited similar to the way the Bx1/Bx2 is setup...
