  1. I was in Atlantic City last night, and i think there are still a few Baby NOVAs left.. I saw 2523 on the 505

no i did not see any Low Floor NABIs at the time i was there because i had to be inside at a venue for a show i was DJing at

I saw one NABI on the 502, another one on the 507 on Atlantic Ave (6210 i think), and a NABI with the sign 552 Cape May deadheading to AC Bus Terminal for the 2:30am trip on my way back home

  2. Government officials installing audio surveillance systems on public buses

The era of private conversations on city buses — and even on San Francisco’s iconic streetcars — may be coming to an end.

Government officials are quietly installing sophisticated audio surveillance systems on public buses across the country to eavesdrop on passengers, according to documents obtained by The Daily. Plans to implement the technology are under way in cities from San Francisco to Hartford, Conn., and Eugene, Ore., to Columbus, Ohio.

Linked to video cameras already in wide use, the microphones will offer a formidable new tool for security and law enforcement. With the new systems, experts say, transit officials can effectively send an invisible police officer to transcribe the individual conversations of every passenger riding on a public bus.

But the deployment of the technology on buses raises urgent questions about the boundaries of legally protected privacy in public spaces, experts say, as transit officials — and perhaps law enforcement agencies given access to the systems — seem positioned to monitor audio communications without search warrants or court supervision.

“This is very shocking,” said Anita Allen, a privacy law expert at the University of Pennsylvania. “It’s a little beyond what we’re accustomed to. The adding of the audio seems more sensitive.”

In San Francisco, for example, transit officials recently approved a $5.9 million contract to install a new audio-enabled surveillance system on 357 buses and trolley cars over four years, with an option for 613 more vehicles. The contract, signed in July, specifies both modern buses and historic trolley cars.

  3. SJ:

New 416 rte 73 line to berlin from philly to franklin mills mall off-peak. At rush a variant will go to business parks along academy road and byberry. 416 B rush hours and another 416 F to frankford transit center. The reason for franklin mills is to link to as many unique SEPTA lines as possible from 73 corridor. At riverline station transfers will be available to a line to frankford transit center at offpeak SEPTA's 8 will extend and absorb Burlink B9 split between lenola and church st to morestown mall. No weekend service added until ridership warrants. The 8 is a LTD stop line that links 2 major hubs fern rock and frankford terminal this makes service on rte 73 corridor.

But 416 will be every 30 to 20 mins in NJ but every other on weekends will go to frankford terminal Or franklin mills mall there is the 50 for links to the casino. 416 will end in berlin.

Restructuring of other lines later as I forgot a few I will look em up in my book.

can we not involve NJT bus routes that go to places in PA other than Philly? 416 sounds way to confusing for passangers...

  6. Ok, Orange has 6000. What about the updated GO28 livery? According to this thread, somebody noted that there's less NABIs in the GO28 livery, but it wasn't mentioned in the updated roster list.

Not to mention we are overdue for a new list. We have yet to hear from @553Bridgeton about the 40 ft NABIs at Egg Harbor. And somebody was supposed to take a picture of the Howell Garage emblem on a Howell bus for Sir Joka

  7. So Gangnam Style is at 808 million views... Only a matter of time before it hits 1 billion....

This also mean that PSY finally beat out Justin Beiber for the #1 spot of most watched YouTube video of all time.

Gangnam Style also caught the attention from people who love horses, or 'horse junkies', because of a horse stable that was filed in the beginning of the video
  8. South Jersey ideas:

451/ Shorten route at Haddonfield PATCO, Run via Haddon Ave, Rt. 130, N.Park Dr, Colonial Hwy, Browning Rd, N. Park Dr, Rt. 130, Haddon Ave, Ferry Ave to Ferry Ave PATCO, then to Camden using the 453 routing. [Merging the 451 with the 453].

455 / Terminate route at Haddonfield PATCO. Route is way too long [Cherry Hill Mall to Paulsboro] Sunday service extended to Haddonfield [currently Deptford Mall-Paulsboro]. Haddonfield-Cherry Hill [with extension to Pennsauken] route would be route 465- Extend this route up Haddonfield Rd, Rt. 73, River Road, and Derousse Ave to the Pennsauken Transit Center RL/ACRL station. This route would take a more direct route [Kings Hwy, Grove St which becomes Haddonfield Rd at Rt. 70] to CH Mall - drop low ridership routing thru Kingston Estates.

456 / Mall Link. this route will link Deptford Mall, Voorhees TC, Cherry Hill Mall, and Moorestown Mall. Major roads would be, from Deptford go up Clements Bridge, Evesham, turn at Burnt Mill [going into Ashland PATCO], Laurel Rd, Echelon Rd, Haddonfield-Berlin Rd , loop thru Haddonfield PATCO, Kings Hwy, Chapel Ave, Cooper Landing Rd, Rt. 38, Haddonfield Rd, Go into CH Mall, Church Rd, then follow current 457 route into Moorestown Mall.

NEW 457/ Start at Gloucester City [drop Camden-Gloucester route except for pull ins and pull outs], Market St, Kings Hwy to Lenola Rd, turn south on Lenola to Moorestown Mall, from Moorestown Mall loop around using Nixon Dr, RT. 38, then back on Lenola Rd, Cinnaminson Ave to Palmyra RiverLINE station. Leaving Palmyra, bus would loop on Cinnaminson Ave, Temple Blvd, Main Harbor, and back on Cinnaminson Ave back to Moorestown and Gloucester.

    451, 455, 456. 457 woud work on a timed-transfer basis at Haddonfield PATCO.

What do you think of these ideas? Since I live in the South Jersey area the route descriptions are more detailed than most ideas.

Ideas on interstate routes will come in a few days.

There would way too many buses at Haddonfield PATCO... and even a timed-transfer basis is still risky... unless these buses can run every 15-30 minutes....

I will have more to comment later after i map these proposals out
