  1. 1136 came from Newton Ave. it was part of the 1132-1138 group.

So those two went back home. I bet 5639 is back at Ironbound as well.

Hilton's 5797-98 are still at Newton Ave. Saw them in Camden today.

nope, i was just on 5639 yesterday on the 457, and i have a receipt to prove

today, I saw a NABI on a deadhead SB I-295 with a different "Not In Service No Passengers Code" the Clever Devices normally don't use, must be an equipment move to Newton Ave, number must've been in the 6050's or 6150's... it was too fast to read the number

Yesterday, I saw 5373 on the 403 at Camden County College..... I think the rest of the NABI suburbans at Newton Ave finally got moved to Washington Twp

  2. EDIT: Also, I really think NJT needs to improve service south of Newark. I'm not just talking about Central Jersey, I'm talking about South Jersey too. As B35 mentioned earlier, the service gets worse as you go south. I mean people from South Jersey have to drive 2/1/2 hours to voice their complaints on a bus route near them. Sometimes, I think NJT is keeping Middlesex & South out of the loop because they aren't as close to NYC as Newark and Jersey City are. NJT might as well just build a South Jersey HQ and a Central Jersey HQ to deal with the bus routes in those areas.

There already is a South Jersey HQ, its at Newton Ave. They even communicate with the Egg Harbor buses via radio

  3. You do realize SEPTA's airport line is every 30 mins off peak from center city to the airport thus rendering your proposal costly and redundant. Just sayin.

I said no passengers would allowed to take NJT from 30th Street to the airport... this would provide a one-seat ride from the New Jersey AC line stations to the airport. This service would bypass University City and Eastwick stations.

It would be beneficial not only to people flying to PHL then continue to AC via train, but also for New Jersey residents.

I just found out that SEPTA is doing construction along the Airport Line, starting in September... i hope this means double track the entire length from NEC to the airport, or it could be Eastwick station is being renovated.

  4. i have an idea...

extend the Atlantic City Line from 30th Street to Philly Airport

it would be restricted to passengers coming to/from New Jersey

the first terminal stop's platform length would fit a four car train, since SEPTA's airport line trains stop at both ends of the long platform as separate stations.

Amtrak used to have this service for a very limited time, but that was funded through an airline called Midway

fare from Airport to Atlantic City would be $17 one way, $30 round trip valid for 10 days similar to the 551/319's round trip discount policy

  5. Newton Ave and Washington Twp's 316 runs include the 510

according to the GTFS data for Google Maps and App Developers, only one Egg Harbor bus operates the 510 early Sunday morning (7:13 AM trip from Wildwood) then it does the 8:15 AM 316 trip to Philly. Only one Egg Harbor bus has a 316 run on weekdays and Saturdays.

There is basically not Egg Harbor buses to operate the 510 with the 316 despite expanded 552 short trips from Wildwood to Crest Haven Complex

I got a feeling that this fall, the 7:13 AM 510 trip will be renumbered as the 552 because it is a local from the 7:35 AM 552 trip from Wildwood to Cape May via GSP and it fills a service gap in Villas... thats my prediction

  6. The Atlantic City Rail Line as it stands right now has significant gaps in its service hours, especially during rush hours. I've never understood why that is. I think that filling in those gaps wouldn't hurt - last December, I went to attend an event at the Convention Center and planned to take the train from Absecon (where I booked my hotel room), but the lack of rush hour service made that option not attractive.

because a majority of the line is single tracked

the only major events that offer extra service is the Atlantic City Air Show in August and the 2 day NJEA Teacher Convention in November

  7. Service Change Posted: 07/24/2012 12:28AM

Due to smoke condition in the area at the Crescent Street Station:

There is no j.png train service between the Broadway Junction Station to the Cypress Hills Station in both directions.

There is a shuttle j.png train service between the Cypress Hills Station and the Jamaica Parsons-Archer Station in both directions.

For alternate service customers are advice to use the e.png train service at the Jamaica Parsons-Archer Station.

For alternate route you can also use the Q56 bus, making all corresponding stops.

Please expect delay in e.png and j.png train service at this time.
