I am sure in your part of the world such as China and other places in Asia, you can find 'bootleg' and cheaper illegal drugs as well if you looked hard enough. I think hes from Morocco. They are pretty harsh on drugs there and tend to give very long prison sentences. From what I read the term Rotting away in Prison fits Morocco because it is very hard to survive a prison sentence there especially if you need medical attention.
