engineerboy6561 Posted October 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2009 This model is the suburban version of the model I built of the Orion V "Next Generation." The bus measures ~45' 9" from bumper to bumper by 108 inches wide and seats 54. The bus has a 21" elevated floor similar to the older high floor models, and the design of the back is a modified version of that used on the Orion V. The front, however, is a high-floor version of a cross between that of the typical NABI low floor and that of the Orion VII NG, and the roof design is modeled on the Orion VII NG. The bus has a fully detailed interior including full-sized high-back suburban seats with headrests, luggage racks done in wood trim along which the lighting for the bus is placed(this concept is based upon the luggage racks of the New Flyer Viking, with the lights toned down and capable of being dimmed), and control panels under each seat allowing for activation of reading lights and signaling for stops. Because it is a suburban vehicle, it only offers one entry/exit door in the front. Possible uses for this vehicle include express service in Brooklyn and Staten Island, service on the X25, X32, and X90 in Manhattan, and possibly service on the M98 East Side-Fort Washington Limited.
