dmouse Posted January 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 23, 2010 Why are the R46 (A)'s coupled into 2 car sets in a 8 car train? (A-A-A-A) rather than the usual 4 car sets? (A-B-B-A)

R44 5278 Posted January 23, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 23, 2010 The 46s were ordered lop sided for A cars. For many years, until the V came along, the G ran A-B-B-A-A-A. There are a 13 A-A sets, and, for some reason, an A-B set. It was probably the result of the 2 wrecked R46s before the GOH. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was one A and one B car.
