Trainspotter 0 Posted February 26, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2008 MTA text message service will alert riders to disruptions Subway and bus riders may soon be able to receive e-mail and text message alerts about unexpected service disruptions, MTA officials announced Monday. Riders who sign up on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Web site also will be able to personalize alerts they receive by choosing what time of day they travel and which subway line they use. The MTA's finance committee approved a $600,000 contract with MIS Science Corporation Monday, and the full board will vote on the service Tuesday.
