Sources report Manager Joe Girardi and The New York Yankees have agreeed. The new deal is three years for $9 million dollars. The deal is $3 million for each year, which places Joe in the top five highest paid managers. Also part in an incentive bonus for winning the American League East Division, winning the A.L. Division Series, winning the A.L. Championship Series, and winning the World Series. This tops out at $500,000.

Welcome back, Joe! Now we can figure out who our new pitching coach will be.

In other team news: The Yankees have declined picking up options on Lance Berkman ($15 million), Nick Johnson ($5.5 million with a $250,000 club buyout) and Kerry Wood ($11 million dollars). If we can negotiate a free agent contract with him this winter, Kerry Wood might still have a future in pinstripes, however.
