Fan Railer Posted November 30, 2010 Share #26 Posted November 30, 2010 I've never heard any one in sunny side yard call hhp power cars even if its the correct name every one calls them hippos, the aem 7 or meat ball are called meat balls n have 10 k HP they out power the hhp . The reason they can pull more is because they are heavier. Don't sleep on the hhp because they use them on the circus train every yr they couple two n its good to go. The hhp its used well beyond reason and the lack of knowledge in repairing them has happerrd its success. Very few know how to repair them and most are in dc or Delaware Dude, just stop..... You're trying to sound like you know stuff, and it isn't working.... Plus reading your posts is like trying to read something out of elementary school. You're on a public forum, so try not to embarrass yourself.

Myke2010 Posted February 11, 2011 Share #33 Posted February 11, 2011 If and when they do retire them it would make sense for MBTA & SLE to snatch up some of those AEM-7's. SLE would only need about 2 of them since they already contract out with SLE anyway Amtrak could do the repair work on the AEM-7's. MBTA could snatch 4 of the toasters since they have one route that already operates directly under the northeast corridor. The AEM-7's have proven to be very reliable so why scrap something if you can get another good 15-20 years out of them if properly maintained, just a suggestion..
