GreeneggsnPelham Posted January 11, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2011 Does anyone know the reason behind the Crosstown line changing station-chaining numbers between Clinton-Washington Avs and Fulton Street? Going southbound on the , after Clinton, about halfway through the tunnel, the chaining numbers change from the 900's to the 700's. But why is that? It seems like an abrupt and unnecessary change. Couldn't they have kept the reverse chaining from the QBL? From a document I have: Clinton-Washington Avenue(II) : start 951+82, end 958+42 [NOTE: In between this and the next station, they pick up the numeral order of the Fulton Street route] Fulton Street : E2 start 733+55, end 740+15; E1 start 733+70, end 740+
EE Broadway Local Posted January 15, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 15, 2011 Connecting to the Fulton Street IND. sounds like the reason. After Fulton Street, the Brooklyn-Queens Crosstown Line stops at Hoyt-Schmerhorn Streets then connects to the Culver Line.
