Iamthe1 Posted January 16, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 16, 2011 Why do some stations only list the neighborhood and not the street or avenue like most stations? Ex. Pelham Bay Park ==> Pelham Bay Park-Bruckner Blvd Parkchester ==> Parkchester-Metropolitian Avenue/Hugh J. Grant Circle Morris Park ==> Paulding Avenue Woodlawn ==> Woodlawn Road ( Sheepshead Bay ==> Sheepshead Bay Road ( Brighton Beach ==> Brighton Beach-6th Street
Eric Posted January 16, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 16, 2011 With the exception of Broad St on the (J)/(Z), New Lots Av on the , Church Av on the , 14 St-8 Av on the , and 168 St on the , all terminals have the neighborhood name as at least part of the stop name, which covers Pelham Bay Park, Woodlawn, and Brighton Beach in your query. As to why other stations like Sheepshead Bay, Morris Park, Cypress Hills, Botanic Garden, and Queensboro Plaza don't have street name identifiers, your answer is as good as mine. Technically Sheepshead Bay could qualify for a street name, as one of the entrances is on Sheepshead Bay Road.
