The Best In The Midwest!

Recommended Posts

This morning, I had the honor, and great pleasure of visiting one of my favorite transit agencies.

The Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (AATA) is located approximately 40 minutes west of Detroit in the beautiful city of Ann Arbor, Michigan! Home of my U of M Wolverines! Go Blue!

The AATA was the first transit agency in the midwest to take delivery of hybrid buses, and one of the launch customers for the New Flyer D40LF.

AATA is currently in the process of increasing service throughout several areas within the county it serves, and is also researching the possibility of offering connections to Detroit Metropolitan (DTW) Int. Airport, as well as Detroit city buses.

Roughly 30% of AATA's fleet comprise of diesel-electric hybrid buses, making it the largest operator of hybrids in the country! (In terms of fleet percentage)

With 10 new hybrids on order, AATA is on track for another industry first! An all hybrid fleet!

AATA is truly.....

This Hybrid was recently involved in a front end collision. Many TA's would have scrapped the bus. But not AATA! Time for The Best In The Midwest, to show how amazing they really are!

AATA's D40LF's are 14-15 years old, and still running strong! Coach 386 STILL hauls some serious ass to this day! Detroit Diesel FTW! Hope you all enjoyed the post!
