The white ppl. not liking fast buses thing QJT brought up, is something I already dismissed.... Anyway, not sure if this answers your question, but AFAIK: - you have the HJ charter buses that run b/w NYC & the north or south fork.... - you have those local buses/routes out there in eastern Suffolk like the S92, 10c, etc. that SCT contracted out.... wasn't even thinking about them in that last reply of mine.... I guess you can look at it like a half public/half private operation..... Yup half public/private was where I got my LI ideas from. If HJ can do it then they can coordinate connections with shortline to improve intercity service or service in general between westchester and LI heck upstate. The LI to PABT is just plain stupid and would garner literally nothing and is just wastefull. The suffolk lines can be better coordinated for distance travel within suffolk.
