Three buses have fallen victim to the roads of New Jersey:

 

 

Friday, June 29, 2012:

 

- NJT 161 bus involved in a multi-motor vehicle collision with serious injuries in Teterboro on Route 46.

 

"The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Unit is investigating the crash, said Sgt. Thomas Schmidt of the Moonachie police. Bus 161 and two cars were involved in the wreck."

- NJT 132 bus involved in a vehicle fire on Route 9.

 

"Bus 132 was on its regular route from Lakewood to the Port Authority bus terminal when flames began to flicker from the rear-right tire wells around 6:10 a.m., according to John Durso, a company spokesman."

- A MTA NYCT bus, Bus 2080 caught fire on the westbound lanes of Route 495 in Union City. I actually saw the bus on the highway while on the 161 before the engine ignited. "

 

"The fire occurred on a New York Transit bus at approximately 5 p.m. when an oil line snapped and drip oil on the engine, which ignited, according to North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Charles Thomas."
