Mysterious2train Posted June 30, 2012 Share #1 Posted June 30, 2012 Why is it, on weekdays, most service at Locust Manor, Laurelton and Rosedale comes from the Far Rockaway trains to Brooklyn (outside Rush Hours) but on the weekend most service comes from the Long Beach trains to Manhattan instead? No where else on the system does something like this happen.
Amtrak7 Posted June 30, 2012 Share #2 Posted June 30, 2012 I guess it has something to do with the desire to give as many customers as possible direct service to NYP on the weekends and give the LB branch (which is a lot busier than the FR) faster travel times on weekdays. Locust Manor/Laurelton/Rosedale are relatively light ridership stations.
