pjbr40 Posted September 4, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2012 I noticed two things that i need to ask. When they are doing either track rail or third rail work, Why is there sandbag near them. This weekend at work pictures, it was placed behind the third rail. I noticed when they are replacing the track panel on the elevated section, Do the crane on street level do all the work or do they have another crane that can bring it from one point to another? those pictures they take it seem it show only one crane in action. if that so how they get around the building next to the track? Pardon my dumb question but i never see this stuff in action.
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted September 4, 2012 Share #2 Posted September 4, 2012 I'm having a hard time understanding you, but anyway I remember when they did track work on the Brighton line near the Sheepshead Bay train station. They had certain streets blocked off and had the replacement tracks and such there on the street with at least one crane (if I recall correctly) around to hoist the materials. I don't think there is a limit per se. It all depends on what they have to do and what is needed.
