Password recovery issue

I lost my laptop a week before Sandy hit so I decided to take a break from the forums. Could have done without not having power until the 7th but I got a new laptop and tried getting back to the forums but couldn't remember my password. Naturally, I requested a recovery link, but for some reason it never got to me until I put BOTH my username AND my email in the fields when you only require either one. Is this something on my end?

The email server was down for a couple of days so I would imagine that you were trying this during the down time. I'm pretty sure this was the case. If this ever happens again please do not hesitate to email me directly.

In one day on the job I had to reset almost 50 passwords in a few hours because with one of my clients, their web server, DNS server along with their DCHP server went down and created havoc on the network. What happened in my case is that my client's data center on site literally went under water and so did the servers which we've replaced, reinstalled the NOS on , along with redeployed images on to restore the servers and workstations on the network. This was due to Superstorm Sandy

 

An extreme case, but I know exactly what Harry is talking about.

Now I get logged out randomly even when I have the "Keep Me Logged In" box checked.
