kaback9 Posted March 28, 2009 Share #26 Posted March 28, 2009 No they can't negotiate the WYE in Jamesburg they tried it once for the annual Santa train and lets just say things did not go well. Dash 9's do operate as far as Browns Yard though as do all forms of six axle power.Six axle power is used on selcet runs to Perth Amboy to a Steel mill there as well as another Steel related industry in Sayerville, the WYE on that line can handle the six axle power, though the widecabs are restricted to transfer trains. kaback9 Posted April 8, 2009 Share #27 Posted April 8, 2009 After finishing class where I had the Stat test from Hell, I decided I need some railfanning to relax :-D. I decided I would head over to Browns and see what was going on but instead of taking 18 straight up thought it might be worth checking out the FIT. I got to Jamesburg and say 4 cars sitting on the WYE destined for Freehold but no power. After texting Andrew I started to drive down to the Hightstown Branch but gave that up and was about to call it quits and just head to Browns when I saw 4412 on the WYE, and the FIT trip was on. It was strange to see them on a Tuesday! Consist was East: 4412(LHF) 2 Covered Hoppers 2 Centerbeam Flats (loaded) Consist West: 4412(SHF) Tank Covered Hopper Centerbeam Flat(Empty) Photos: http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1556270 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1556272 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1556275 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1556277 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1556278 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1556279 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1556292 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1556305 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1556310 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1556311 Enjoy!
