superdrive1 Posted March 10, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2013 Afternoon all! I thought I'd setup a base here for my Youtube transport videos, which will be updated on a fairly frequent basis! As you can probably gather by my location all of these will be from the UK! Namely the West Anglia Mainline which runs between London Liverpool Street station to Stansted Airport and Cambridge. All 'new' videos at the moment are being filmed from my local station of Stansted Mountfitchet but over time I hope to venture further out and capture more trains at different locations! The quality of my camera is a bit rubbish but hopefully it doesn't put anybody off watching! Hope you all enjoy my shorts clips capturing the usual and odd raIl movements on one of the many lines out of London! Please view my main channel below to see the current selection and view the video below to see one of the more unusual movements expected this year through my local station! https://www.youtube.com/user/welovechannel4?feature=mhee

Including a first for me in seeing a Network Rail stoneblower! Can be seen in the 3rd video! Hope you all enjoy these further insights into a small corner of the UK network!

superdrive1 Posted March 19, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted March 19, 2013 Today saw DB Schenker freight locomotive Class 66 66095 pass through Stansted Mountfitchet light-engine on a working from Hoo Junction to Whitemoor, do get some slightly strange workings through here sometimes!
superdrive1 Posted March 21, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted March 21, 2013 3rd Class 66 locomotive of the week makes it's appearance with 66206 providing power on 6M29. Before linking the video, a quick explanation of the 4-letter codes I use in my video. As you may have noticed, each consists of a number, letter and 2 further numbers. First number is the type of train (passenger, freight, special etc), letter implies where in Britain the train is going and the last 2 number differentiate between trains on the same routes to and from the same places at the same time! So as an example 6M29 is a freight train that is limited to a top-speed of 60mph and heading to the Midlands area. Those who wish to read into this further may do so here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Train_reporting_number Now onto the video, more have been uploaded on my channel!

superdrive1 Posted March 30, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted March 30, 2013 The Easter weekend in the UK sees the usual closures in one place or another, the West Anglia Mainline seeing a fair amount of work on the Tottenham Hale/Seven Sisters - Hackney Downs zone, all videos from the last few days can be found on my channel, otherwise here's a few clips.
superdrive1 Posted April 4, 2013 Author Share #10 Posted April 4, 2013 (edited) Yesterday saw major disruption on my local line as a rail defect at Broxbourne prevented trains from Stansted Airport and Cambridge reaching London for a period of time and any trains that did make it through were running rather late. To make it more interesting, Network Rail test trains and freight trains were also attempting to run in the gaps! Action from yesterday (20 clips worth!) can be found on my channel, the better clips from the day are below Edited April 4, 2013 by superdrive1
superdrive1 Posted April 14, 2013 Author Share #11 Posted April 14, 2013 As you can probably tell by the silence here. the train action has been a bit low! However things have picked up again, with the usual engineering trains and the first venture to London with the new camera to film at a special depot open weekend! Other videos can be found on my channel including a few ride-alongs on the Tube!
superdrive1 Posted April 29, 2013 Author Share #12 Posted April 29, 2013 (edited) This past weekend saw me venturing into new territory with my camera as I headed for the West Midlands with a few friends for the day to cover some train operations around the city of Birmingham! Photos and videos of the trip below along with some of the more usual items from my home station! (note photos sized at 800px x 448px, if this is too large please inform me immediately) Hope they were of interest! FamousNYLover Posted April 29, 2013 Share #13 Posted April 29, 2013 Excellent pic/videos!! Mod/Adm could change the title to United Kingdom transit way Minato Ku does with his Paris transit service.
superdrive1 Posted April 29, 2013 Author Share #14 Posted April 29, 2013 Excellent pic/videos!! Mod/Adm could change the title to United Kingdom transit way Minato Ku does with his Paris transit service. Yes if that could be done it would be brilliant, I was only going to use this for my Youtube but I've got a lot of pictures etc going on as well now and would like to share them all, so if the title could be changed to reflect that it would be helpful!
superdrive1 Posted May 4, 2013 Author Share #15 Posted May 4, 2013 Only one train of interest about today as an empty stone train (6M67 11:50 Broxbourne Redland Aggs to Mountsorrel Sdgs) with Class 66 diesel locomotives 66135 leading the train and 66118 on the rear passing through my local station. Couple of photos and the standard video below
superdrive1 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Share #16 Posted May 7, 2013 A fairly busy Bank Holiday weekend (train-wise!) has just passed here, which saw a fairly large quantity of engineering trains alongside the usual trains and also a late night visit of a track testing train! Pictures and videos as always are below. To view a full selection of pictures and videos taken by me, please view the following links! http://www.flickr.com/photos/stanstedtransportphotos/ http://www.youtube.com/user/welovechannel4 Enjoy!

superdrive1 Posted June 17, 2013 Author Share #22 Posted June 17, 2013 The latest videos and images to roll off the production line, hope you enjoy looking through them! (note the first train featured alongside a video is currently in a special 'Rainbow' livery and is only applied to this train, considering there's over 400 of this type of train currently about in the mainland UK it's a pretty unique catch!)
superdrive1 Posted June 26, 2013 Author Share #23 Posted June 26, 2013 Something different to show you all today, a visit to a new filming location at Cambridge and a steam train special alongside the usual passenger and freight movements. The steam train featured here is LNER Peppercorn Class A1 60163 'Tornado' and was working a special passenger railtour from Rainham (Kent) to Ely and return in connection with a flower show at Ely Cathedral. Despite it being a steam locomotive, it's construction was only completed in 2008 after a 14 year project to build a copy of this original locomotive design from scratch (none of the original locomotives of this design were preserved, all were scrapped), a plaque on the locomotive commemorating it's construction is present and reads the following. "This locomotive was built and paid for by people who shared a vision and were determined to turn it into reality." Also as a heads-up to those reading the next video/image set will be coming from various corners of London, hope to cover Eurostars, London Underground and Overground, High Speed Trains and all sorts of other things!
superdrive1 Posted July 2, 2013 Author Share #24 Posted July 2, 2013 Something even more different from the norm to show off, this past Saturday saw a flying trip around London, including watching Eurostar trains working the High Speed 1 line to/from London St Pancras International (trains sighted from a bridge at Rainham (London), a trip out to view trains on the famous Great Western Mainline and also brief trips to London Victoria and Clapham Junction stations (the latter being famous as Britain's busiest railway station!) Note that this time only images will be featured here due to potential cases of my mates swearing (not intentional!) in some of the videos, of course if you wish to view them on my Youtube page please do, with a variety of 125mph and 140mph trains passing you probably won't be disappointed! Not linking them directly just to stay on the safe side of the law http://www.youtube.com/user/welovechannel4 http://www.flickr.com/photos/stanstedtransportphotos/
superdrive1 Posted July 10, 2013 Author Share #25 Posted July 10, 2013 (edited) So I come back here, look for my topic and can't find it, then realized it's been pinned to the top?! Wow, thanks for that! Will attempt to keep this place up to date a bit more often now, a few more catches now, covering everything from the start of July right up to this afternoon, including a Network Rail test train, a return to passenger traffic for EMU 317650 after a year out, 2 track tampers, one rare freight movement and the usual mix of freight trains and weekend engineering trains, spoiled for choice! As usual full selection in the usual places...
