Bracamonte Posted August 4, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 4, 2013 Does anyone know how many M2's, M4's and M6's currently remain on the New Haven Line? I think the line is now half M8's and half of the old fleets, with the M8s running more often during weekends. I think there should be a pinned thread about the remaining old cars of the New Haven Line.
lirr42 Posted August 4, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 4, 2013 Only M2's have been retired thus far. The M4's and M6's still have quite some time left on the hallowed New Haven line--they aren't going off to the scraper anytime soon. As to the M2's...I don't know exactly how many have gone, but I do understand they are being shipped off at a good clip now.

Vistausss Posted August 9, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 9, 2013 M4: All 54 are in service M6: All 48 are in service Nope, not true. Some M4s have been scrapped. And 2 M6s were stripped from useable parts a few months ago in Stamford Shop. (source: MNRR maintenance crew members at railroad.net)
