Bronx: Man Is Fatally Struck by Train

[float=left]75px-NYCS-bull-trans-4_svg.png[/float]A 71-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a train while leaning over on a station platform, the police said. The man, identified by the police as Tran Thang, was standing on a platform at the Fordham Road station on the No. 4 subway line with his head leaning over when he was struck shortly before 4 p.m., the police said. After being hit, Mr. Thang fell into a 19-year-old man, injuring his nose, the police said. Mr. Thang was declared dead at the scene, and the 19-year-old was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. No charges are expected to be filed, the police said.
