AtlanticMoynihan Posted August 27, 2020 Share #1 Posted August 27, 2020 The August 26th Board Meeting was a special one for the MTA, as they usually do not host board meetings in August. They hosted this one due to their financial situation. While they did not actually vote on anything yet, they do have a plan in case they must lay it out. The full board meeting agenda is on the MTA website. <img src="https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/715600872582676580/748560030386880512/unknown.png" alt="MTA Finance"> NYCT PROPOSED BUDGET CUTS -The subway could run at an 8 minute frequency, SIR 30 minutes off peak. -Buses could run at a frequency of 15 minutes -AAR On-Demand may end LIRR AND MNR BUDGET CUTS -Service frequency of 60 minutes, 2 hours off-peak or on lower ridership branches -Eliminating service on one or more LIRR branches -Delaying ESA Start -Eliminating service west of Hudson BRIDGES AND TUNNELS -Peak period tolls -Ending resident discounts -Less timely response to service -More lane closures CAPITAL CONSTRUCTION -Pause of several capital projects including ESA WAGE FREEZE AND CASH FLOW OPTIONS MAY BE CONSIDERED. checkmatechamp13 Posted August 28, 2020 Share #4 Posted August 28, 2020 @AtlanticMoynihan They're saying subway and SIR headways could have an increase by that much. So the headway would be 15-20 minutes on the subway and 60 minutes on the off-peak SIR

I hope some funds can be recouped and bus fare collection can close the deficit by a bit.
