BM5 via Woodhaven Posted October 5, 2020 Share #1 Posted October 5, 2020 (edited) ....just a rerouted Q53. This happened as a result of a car crash on Woodhaven Boulevard, which closed the boulevard down for multiple blocks. Initially, Q29 buses were operating normally, with Q11 buses joining the Q29 along Dry Harbor Road and 80th Street to Metropolitan Avenue. The Q53 OTOH was using Eliot Avenue, 80th Street, and Metropolitan Ave in both directions. Eventually, for reasons unknown, the last Q29 of the day (both final bus and the final bus to Jackson Heights) was detoured via 80th Street and Eliot Avenue instead of via Dry Harbor Road. Sucks because if you see in the beginning of the video, there was someone waiting for that Q29 at the beginning of the video (by the gas station). Don't know how that person get home. The car crash happened at around 10 PM or so, and a detour notice was not posted until 2:51 AM. Service resumed around 5 AM. 2017 New Flyer "Xcelsior" XD60 6074 on the Q53 SBS at 80th Street & Eliot Avenue by BM5 Photos 2019-2020, on Flickr 2007 Orion VII Hybrid 3750 on the QM17 at Eliot Avenue & 80th Street by BM5 Photos 2019-2020, on Flickr And here's a Q53 that's not on detour: 2017 New Flyer "Xclesior" XD60 6086 on the Q53 SBS at Broadway & 75th Street by BM5 Photos 2019-2020, on Flickr Enjoy!
