Which LIRR Engines are these? Taken from an R62A 7

Those are SW1001s (I believe) that serve as Harold protects. Usually this pair sits in Morris Park right next to the Boland's Landing platform (the one right outside the Atlantic Ave tunnel).

Do you know if the pair are fitted with Budd pin and cup couplers or if they have to carry along a compromise coupler in order to haul some MUs out?

Not sure, but i do know they can pull a double set dead in tow, even if its not fast. B)

 

I have seen those adapter couplers at trenton since they have the budd arrow emu's there as well as other stuff.
