The new design for how the threads display is really throwing me off, not digging it at all.  Is there any setting available to users that would allow them to customize their own view? I can't make head nor tail of the new one.

If you haven't already,  go to Account Settings > Content View Behavior to change the view of new content in topics.

Both, to be quite honest.  Harder to navigate than the old format, more jumbled in a way.
