Ecs25 Posted February 25 Share #1 Posted February 25 Hello! I interviewed for a non-civil service resume Associate Transit Management Analyst position a few weeks ago. Got a call last week from someone on the hiring team indicating they wanted to move me forward in the process and would submit my information to HR if I was still interested (I am). I was told I would be contacted by HR in a few weeks. My questions are, does anyone know what the next steps look like? Is a pre-employment drug test required for a non-safety sensitive position like this? I enjoy a little marijuana now that it’s legal in New York, but will stop immediately if it is prohibited for non-safety sensitive analyst positions. I can’t find a clear answer on this. Thanks so much.
+Young+ Posted February 26 Share #2 Posted February 26 Just to be on the safe side, and until you find a clear answer on this, I would stop immediately. That's just me.
Amtrakdude Posted March 19 Share #3 Posted March 19 I believe the position falls under the protection of LABOR (LAB) CHAPTER 31, ARTICLE 7, SECTION 201-D SUBSECTION 2 PARAGRAPH b & c, so you should be ok. 2. Unless otherwise provided by law, it shall be unlawful for any employer or employment agency to refuse to hire, employ or license, or to discharge from employment or otherwise discriminate against an individual in compensation, promotion or terms, conditions or privileges of employment because of: b. an individual's legal use of consumable products, including cannabis in accordance with state law, prior to the beginning or after the conclusion of the employee's work hours, and off of the employer's premises and without use of the employer's equipment or other property; c. an individual's legal recreational activities, including cannabis in accordance with state law, outside work hours, off of the employer's premises and without use of the employer's equipment or other property; https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/LAB/201-D Question for you though - I'm also in the process for a TMA position... or at least I think I am. I originally met with the majority of the interview panel at the Open House at PS248. At the end of the actual interview at 2 B'way, the main interviewer said to be patient but HR would reach out. The only word I've received since was a request from the main interviewer the following week to complete the Family Member Disclosure Form, which I filled out and sent back the same day. The interview was about 3 weeks ago but the Application Dashboard still shows "Applied". I'm afraid to reach out - 1. I don't want to ruffle any feathers after being told to be patient, that it's a slow process. 2. I don't want to face a potential reality that I may no longer be in the running. Did/Have you had a similar experience?
