Exclusive NY1 Poll Finds Straphangers Split On Quality Of Transit System

 

In the past 15 years, tokens became a thing of the past, replaced by Metro cards, which allow for things like free bus transfers and fare discounts. With those changes and others you'd think New Yorkers overwhelmingly would say mass transit has improved.

I agree. The subways are cleaner and graffiti free but the rides haven't improved much to me. The irt's being the worst of all systems there has to be ways on improving the commutes for new yorkers.

I think subway service improved over the years. maybe not every single line but some have seen better service.

The tokens were cooler to have but a pain in the arse to deal with. The metrocard is cheesy but an all in one solution.

I prefer the MetroCards over the tokens.
