Fresh Pond Posted February 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2009 Ok, here's the story. I was on the Q67 going home last night and there was a fire at 49th Ave right past 21st St. It was on the overpass over the and the LIRR. The bus I was on stopped on 21st St, right before the turn. There was no other way around it so the bus driver killed the engine and we sat there for about 15 minutes. Well anyway, I am writing this to see if the Q67 has any other ways around that overpass. Also, that hill it goes up after going under the highway is too steep for the bus. The last time it snowed, the bus lost traction and got somewhat stuck. It took the bus about 8 minutes to go up a hill that is about 100 ft long. There is another set of hills (about 4) going up 53 drive. I've never seen a Orion V do a roll-back until it gets to that hill. Something needs to be done about it.
Forest Glen Posted February 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 11, 2009 The steepest hill I've encountered on a bus route is when the Q65 heads north along 164 street just past Hillside Avenue.
PATCOman Posted February 11, 2009 Share #3 Posted February 11, 2009 How about the Bx19 between Riverside Drive and Broadway? Thats the steepest one I could think of off hand.
