for those who are currently C/R's I would appreciate it if you can tell me your dislikes and likes of the job? what ate the toughest things you can say about the job? how did your family  handle the odd hours and working on weekends, holidays etc?

I know this is going to be time consuming, however, if I was you, I would go through the 600+ pages of this thread. Hopefully, by doing so, you will have your questions answered.

thanks young, I read thru all of it, there is nothing in there that explains the life of a C/R

The life of a C/R wouldn't and isn't any different then any other transit employee's. We all have our jobs to do, and do hem to their fullest. Everyone's job serves a vital purpose in keeping the system running 24/7. The life of a TA worker is mostly thankless, tiresome since you'll be away from your family on holidays a lot in your junior years.
